How To Turn On Brake Service Mode 2020 Chevy Silverado.!!

🛑🚨DO NOT TRY THIS IF YOU ALREADY REMOVED YOUR CALIPER ONLY DO THIS IF YOU HAVEN’T DISASSEMBLED!!!!

The manual wasn’t to clear so this is how I put the truck into brake service mode after doing some research I ended up doing it the hard way, retracting the break pistons manually if only I would have known this I would have done this first and saved myself a whole bunch of time and headaches. Everyone says you need a scan tool to do this or you have to take it to the dealer but this is another Option!!

This is all because the new Electric Parking Brake System.

This should retract the rear brake pistons/motors allowing you to put your new brake pads on.

Same thing on my 2019. My buddy said last fall that there was enough pads left til spring. That wasn't the case so I ordered Detroit axle rotors and pads

Finally a solution that works for brake service mode. Now if there was a solution for brake percentage reset without an expense scan tool that would be nice

Might be a repeat queation: the dealership said i cant change the brakes without a computer tool for im guessing the brake service. Does this apply to both front and rear brakes or just the rear? Thanks again

did all that and changed front and rear brakes. When i came back out i reset the pad wear and only the back reset . The front did not. I dont know how to reset the front it wont let me.

I went after the front brake replacement like I would on my 15’ by removing everything. Realized that they are very dissimilar and looked on YouTube. Saw this video, tried to put in SVC mode (with caliper off) and blew a piston out of the caliper.

I just replaced the caliper and bled the brakes but it’s looking like I’m going to have to take it to the dealership.
TC, ESB, Trailer break, ABS; ALL malfunctioning. If only I would have gotten on YouTube sooner

Do you have to take the motor off to get the caliber off to replace the pads? I went to change my brakes yesterday and clearly watched the wrong videos cause I didn’t think it was this difficult lol. I can’t seem to find a good video for our model replacing the pads

Nope, the flashing brake light went off after I pushed it one more time and then I did it again. Tried it again and it went off without pushing it one more time but it don't work on my 21 Chevy. I guess I'm going to try it again though

Are you only supposed to do that for the rear brakes or does that count for the front brakes to?
