Nioh's first boss was a total pushover. On the other hand I had to try Wo Long's tutorial boss for at least 50 times before I beat it.

Wtf...a 15 second intro on a WhatCulture video rather than a three minute "must stretch the video to monetisation length" balls? Impressed.

I agree with all of them, would add Tiamat from Darksiders to the list too, surprisingly hard for the first "real" Boss

Even though kuze isn't that hard, he can be kinda tricky to beat sometimes. Especially if you are inexperienced, have little to no upgrades, or both. But even if he is not that hard, he is still on of the coolest villains in yakuza.

I'm glad you included Nioh. The bosses in that game can be unforgiving. Some of the hardest in all of gaming.

Basically these guys are like when you're fighting Bald Bull when you'd think that the first boss should be Glass Joe.

I'm surprised Margit the Fell didn't make the list, considering how much of a roadblock he was to so many players.

How did Wo Long's first boss not make this list? Even after he got nerfed I still see people in the Reddit forum say he's too hard.

I knew Gascoigne would be on here. He was a road block my 1st time but now on my 5000th new game its just "Hi Gascoigne, bye Gascoigne"

Kind of surprised that the False Knight from Hollow Knight wasn’t on this list. That thief is a testament to learning attack patterns.

the first boss of Wo Long Fallen Dynasty is ridiculously hard to beat

Phrike was hard but it was very satisfying learning its patters. I think the hardest part of the fight was the pressure of knowing you wouldn't be able to fight it right away if you died.

I know I'm a filthy casual, but I will never forgive Bethesda for that first deathclaw in Fallout 4. Sure, at your second or third playthrough, you can develop a strategy for the sequence, but that first time...oh, man. You've just gotten that half-destroyed suit of power armor and the mini-gun, and you're blasting merrily away at Gristle's gang, when BAM! out comes a deathclaw (remembering that you're maybe level 3 at this time). It focuses on you and this particular deathclaw leans heavily on the grapple/bite-your-face attack. You're dead before you even realize what's happening.

Okay, I need to preserve rounds for the mini gun. Start from last save. Nope.

Maybe if I equip that shotgun I looted on the way in. Nope.

Seriously, considering the toughest thing you'd faced up to that point was a guy in bondage gear named after tough meat, that deathclaw was an over-the-top encounter.

Comm Officer from Resident Evil Revelations. That boss fight is nightmare and game breaking. I admit I used exploit for this boss.

Jules endings always make my day he is truly someone that we should all aim to be like by helping others even if its just asking them how they are or saying good morning keep up the great work Jules

#5: Odolowa (The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask)

#3: Gold and Silver (God Hand)
#2: Durai
#1: Aztec Falcon (Mega Man Zero)

That first boss in Wo Long drove me nuts but I've heard they have made him easier in an update.

Wo Long might be too new, but I think it's my #1 having beaten almost all of the ones listed in this list.

I’d personally add Ghirahim from Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword to this list.

I don’t think he’s “insanely hard” however his difficulty is definitely notable compared to the other early boss fights. Furthermore, it relies on questionable motion controls anyway (I personally didn’t have any issues but I know some people did).
