T-Mobile will get better speeds in the Samsung Galaxy S7 if it's been updated with their software - it enabled 256QAM, and 4x4MIMO, nearly doubling the download speeds. AT&T lacks this feature as of now in any device.
As for the iPhone 7, regardless of carrier being AT&T or T-Mobile, these devices for these carriers use the Intel modem inside, which drastically, and dramatically cuts the "cell edge" reception and speed in nearly HALF over the Qualcomm modem which is found in the CDMA enabled version of the device sold by Sprint and Verizon. This test gives an idea of this, but you should try testing on like for like devices, like for like software.

You have 1 bar on tmobile and get 25 down?? With Sprint I get 0.25 mbps with 1 bar, and 15 mbps max with 5 bars!

All I know is that I’m KC MO. T-Mobile gave me 3mbps and hotspot was half a mb tops. Switched to att after couple days and get over 20mb and hotspot works fast too 5-8mb.
On new unlocked iPhone SE. T-Mobile claimed I need a branded phone from them. Att was cool and said that’s stupid. Just my story in 64111.

ATT charged me $270 a month for 4 lines, (all phones paid off) switched to t-mobile, got 4 lines, with 2 iphones Xs on the monthly bill and i only pay $180. i don’t care if they have better coverage, i have a new phone and $100 off my bill. Screw ATT

Kid you do realize it also depends on a antennas right. As a developer I bet u a 100 bucks LG v30 will Beat let’s say iPhone X.

Ahhh you're up by Oshkosh/Appleton/Neenah.

The reason you're getting good speeds on T-Mobile is because they just recently built their network up there. That area is established AT&T / Verizon / US Cellular. T-Mobile didn't have anything but 2G up there until about a year or two ago. So, seeing that most people up there have AT&T / US Cellular / Verizon, T-Mobile's network is going to be fairly uncongested. I can promise you that down here in Milwaukee, AT&T kicks T-Mobile's ass as far as speed. Even those results, though good, are actually poor for an uncongested network. I would expect MUCH better than 30mbps for being one of the few people on the tower lol
