Vegeta could cut him some slack, he was raised by Bulma alone without Vegeta, the only time he ever gets to see both of his parents is in the past, he doesn't get to back to time and both of his parents are waiting for him, and now even Bulma is gone. He still has to fight to try and protect his world in pain and alone. He's strong for that.
