Wise words. Its strange how we so often and easily talk ourselves out of doing something we love to do. Some of the best times I've had with a camera is when I've just gone and done it, despite the nagging negative voice trying to put me off.

I learned my lessons a few months ago! I usually get angry at myself whenever I have an idea and then the weather doesn't play along, moral of the story. There is ALWAYS an opportunity for a great picture!

Thanks for the video! I enjoyed these tips! :)

I think this is maybe the most important lesson in photography. To add my own interpretation to the lesson:
Looking back, I have *never* regretted an attempt at going out to take pictures. Those spontaneous days quite often result in unexpected surprises you could have never planned for. The world is too full of random and unknown cool stuff to be a disappointment. My portfolio is full of moments that happened because I said "Alright, let's get out there!"

So true, had great shots yesterday when I left my house as it looked like it's starting to rain but turned out to be a great shooting with some nice shots.

this happened to me the other day and like you, I came home with the best shot I've taken since starting photography. Your videos have helped me grow and become a better photographer over the past year and a half. just wanted to say thank you. I took your advice about investing in experiences and am going on a cross country trip this September for a shooting spree (pun intended)

This just happened to me this morning! It was cloudy at 3am so I decided not to go out to shoot the milky way. But at 4:30 the sky end up turning very clear and i missed the opportunity to shoot the milky way that i've been waiting all week! If only I saw this video before going out i would have gotten that shot hahah

You're the type of guy i want to have next to me when i'm having a bad day! Also, you should do a video on how to make night timelapses (stars), i'm having trouble shooting timelapses with my Nikon d5300

I do the same sometimes, argue with myself for over 20minutes and then I feel really stupid because during that time I could already have driven to a location... So I've tried to stop doing that and just make a call right away whether or not I'm gonna go out. Outsmarting the clouds is basically impossible, so if there is even a slightest chance of good conditions it's best to just go out tbh :D

Hi! Great video! Thanx! Would it be possible to put a link behind/under the other lessons so we could find them more easily? :-) I know this is just the 2nd lesson but I think it might come in handy.

Really enjoy your videos, with the subject of just do it, I keep wanting to try my hand at landscape photography . My question is can I be successful at it using a crop sensor camera (D7000) I see most of the other videos on landscape photography show folks using FF cameras.

hey I cleaned both mirrors and my sensor but there's still an internal dust spec. it's really messing with my focus.

What's up with irony of talking about an all day down pour and the ocean, while in the desert?
