An excellent and inspiring message. The photographer's life is often lost sleep, early mornings, hiking back in the dark, and lots of disappointments but through persistence and practice, you eventually get that magic shot that keeps you going. Even more important, the misses and occasional great shots become a rock solid foundation to achieve even greater success. It builds an intuitive nature that helps us sense how to obtain greater repeatability in our techniques.

Thanks for the video Joshua! Lately I've been between a rock and a hard place with photography (quite literally in some cases being in the middle of moorland and coast), and I've been just about ready to just sell up my gear, move to some random island in the middle of nowhere, and never even think about creating an image again.

It helps to know that professionals like yourself hit these bumps along the road, and that it's just a case of repetition and strong will! Take it easy man, and thanks again!

Have had minimal opportunities to get out and shoot as of late, and the few chances I've had the conditions have been kinda blah. Can get to feeling pretty defeating. So thanks for such an encouraging video!! 👍

what I find interesting is that the shots that you say are not that good most photographers are happy to claim. why is it that most photographers nowadays cannot be judgmental about a good/or bad photo of their own or of somebody else's and they seem to only want to give positive feedback even when the photo is garbage? Perhaps do a video about this subject .? as always though, thank you for your wonderful videos and inspiration. you truly are a blessing too photographers

Inspiring video. I am pretty new at photography (about 6 months now) purely on an amateur basis. But every time I go out, I find something to shoot which I am comfortable to share... being meticulous, patientand looking for new angles or wait as the light condition seems to do the trick. Maybe it is beginner's luck or getting more comfortable with the process of exploration. Thanks for these tips.

I always feel dumb going out to the same places over and over again. I run into a lot of the same people, out fishing or live near by. I guess I'm just self conscious. I think they think I'm some sort of idiot.

I hate when I leave my ISO at 208, 000 from shooting nocturnal hummingbirds!
