Losses Electric Motor and How to Reduce Motor Losses

Показать описание
In this video I will show you the four types of losses in electric motors. I also show you in which motor components the losses occur and what they are dependent on. Additionally, I will tell you what you can do to reduce the different motor losses.

The losses of electric motors can be divided into ohmic losses, iron losses, stray losses and mechanical losses. Ohmic losses are often called copper losses and iron losses are also called core losses.

Hi, thank you for the information in the video, I would like to know the losses of magnetic field what type of losses, and changing the medium between the stator and the rotor how it can affect the losses, or increasing the gap size between them if we can estimate how the efficiency will be affected.
Thank you

I am electrical engineering student I'm very interested in electrical motor design, you videos are very informative, it would be great if you explained the slotless or coreless motor

it's a great presentation!
1-I hope you talk about motor winding ... like length, diameter size and number of turns of the wire and voltage/amper limits of motor winding
2-coreless (slot-less) motor ... is it become inefficient in large applications?
3- BLDC Golden motor ... how this small motor work in huge power?

So, I live in Alaska and the mains electric isn't very reliable sometimes, so I use a generator sometimes... The generator I use used to work perfectly, but then I hooked up a power tool and it seemed to "break" the generator... I tested the output at the plug, and it is only producing 5 volts now, so I tried exciting the field windings with a car battery and only got about double the voltage... what else can I try? It just occurred to me it might have slip rings and if so, this is where i need to apply the voltage in order to figure out where the problem is coming from ?

I'm working on 1.5kw BLDC Motor Design and prototyping. While testing the I'm facing lot of losses. Motor is running at its maximum rpm at 8 amps on 64 volts without any load. Would you please help to figure out how to calculate the exact gauge of winding wire, number of turns and number of strands.? And for Prototype I've used 2.5mm mild steel plates to make 50mm of stack. Should the plates be insulated to minimise the eddy current losses.?

On your next video on electrical sheet material will you focus just on SiFe or explore NiFe and CoFe too?

That's a good video, in my opinion Can you go a little bit slower? For someone, like me, english is a secondary language, so it became a bit difficult understood at this velocity.
Thanks for your work, and for helping to understand this argument

Can you please comment if there is a considerable relation between Core looses and motor vibration.

Hallo Markus, deine Videos gefallen mir. Als ich entdeckte, dass du aus Berlin kommst, entschied ich mich gleich in die Kommentar etwas zu schreiben. I’m a 26-year-old young guy from China. I’m in the business of neodymium magnets and magnetic assemblies, but now trying to expand to BLDC motor and controller field. That’s why I’m learning everything about electric motors. You have German accent when speaking English, which I find interesting.
Danke für deine volle Videos!

Very interesting material for learning motor design. I am working using motorcad for electromagentic motor degisn, do you have any guide or book about the design flow, design process and recomendations for this software?

can you please clarify how these losses effect the air gap between stator and rotor

Please I need your help agently am trying to run three ac motor of 5.5hp on single phase source of electricity but if am trying to run all the three motor usually one of them will have a problem with the starting winding (burnt) what could be the problem
