Notepad++ auto complete html tags

In this quick tip we show you how to turn on the auto completion of html tags so that if you type in an opening tag, Notepad++ will automatically insert the matching closing tag.

Note: After you follow the steps in this video, the closing tags for HTML/XML will only be automatically added when you are editing files that end with the extensions: .html .htm .shtml .shtm .xhtml .hta--

In other words, if, for example, your are editing a file that ends in .txt, or .css, the auto-completion of tags will Not happen.

So I am working on a xhtml using javascript scripts inthe body. How do you make that setting apply to Javascript mode as well? I don't wanna use the menu to enable xml mode everytime I wana write an xml tag in javascript mode.

Wäre besser wenn du deine " Tastenbelegungen " mal erklärst.
Im Html bereich öffnen die " Tags " automatisch.
Im css. bereich nicht, dort nutzt du Tastenkürzel.

My Preferences box doesn't look like yours. I am using v6.3 on Windows 7. There is a tab called "Backup/Auto-Completion. It does not have the list of languages to the left or a place to select the option to close HTML tags. Any advice for this situation? Thanks for any help you can provide. Also, what I'm really looking for is a feature that will give me a drop down menu of everything for HTML that starts with H, such as HTML and HEAD, but I haven't gotten this right.
