@deventergast This engine has got the i-VTEC which is activated at low revs mainly to save fuel. It can be felt when going from no throttle to full throttle at low revs because the engine hesitates.

I think the very many use of sound isolation is to blame, but compared to the old VTEc engines, this one always sounds a bit too civilized, too artificial to me. If you rev a 1998 VTi it sounds like you are  a kamikaze and I miss that with this one.
Still, it's my only complaint about it 'cos otherwise I can't imagine an engine being this good capable of offering adequate performance when you need it and top fuel economy when Super unleaded it's price is hitting the sky ;)

I got the 2003 Civic EP2 with only 110hp and is quicker. The 8gen is too heavy.
