Beats Studio Buds Review | Good Value ANC Earbuds

Reviewing the Beats Studio Buds, which at £130 UK are much cheaper than Apple's Airpods Pro and the Powerbeats true wireless earbuds. They're among the best earphones with ANC in 2021 at this sort of price point, even if the Sony WF earphones are better at noise cancellation. I've been testing for over a week so here's my final verdict on the Beats Studio Buds, which are released on July 20th.

Despite the cheaper asking price vs those Airpods, I prefer these Beats earphones in many ways. You don't get stems sticking out of your ears, plus audio quality is just as strong, as is that ANC (despite wind feedback). And the lack of Apple's H1 chipset is no issue if you're using Android (and indeed a bonus for many iPhone users who seem hacked off with it).

The Beats app is rather basic compared with some rivals, but you can customise the controls to a small degree. But no, there isn't any equaliser option or way to tweak the Beats Studio Buds audio. Just toggle between the noise cancellation mode and that transparency option.

Struggled with these at first as the sound quality and volume was poor then realised that I wasn't wearing them correctly. Now I think they are brilliant. Wouldn't of thought it would be possible to wear them incorrectly but I found a way 😀

Just bought these. I’ve spent so much money replacing cheaper headphones and earbuds so these will actually save me money in the long run. A huge sting to my wallet now so I can spend a lot less later. Chose red.

Had mine a week and here my thoughts

ANC:
Not AirPods pro level but close enough

Transparency:
It sound natural like airpods pro when you have nothing playing but moment you play audio its like its not there anymore I suspect the pros do a better job of mixing in ambient noise with what you are listening to. Even you own voice sounds abit muffled when you have the beats in your ears with transparency on. As long as you pause your audio you can have conversations decently well with them in ear

Audio:
Compared to the AirPod pros these seem to have a gap like the vocals and snares are very clear actually borderline harsh on some tracks and there is bass somewhat more than the pros but theres like a hollowness to music maybe that’s the lacking midrange some reviews talk about

Case:
Portable and compact

Lack of in ear sensors:
Doesn’t bother me

Comfort and fit:
Light weight and you forget you have them. Wish the eartips were oval shaped though for better fit the pros seemily “sit” in my ears the beats more of “fit” in my ears and stay stuck whilst the pros unintrusively sit in my ears for better comfort overall

Controls:
Buttons are very sensitive the con is they are easy to accidentally press. Wish they had squeeze controls instead in the little handle of the buds

Ios intergration:
Good

Price:
I feel 129.99 was a more fair price for these considering no wireless charging on the case and no in ear sensors and these have button not touch controls …the extra is obviously apple tax and the beats logo you are paying for

Recommendation:
If you have AirPods pro you can skip these. Not because they are bad or anything just Overall the pros are significantly better as a package obviously. But if you in the market for AirPods or if you looking to replace your AirPods 1 or 2 or you want a stemless design bud with ios intergration then these are worth a gander

I bought these and I found them to be significantly quieter than my Beats X. Im not sure if this is a problem with my pair, but all the reviews never mentioned the volume output on these. Taking these to an apple store to find out.

Thank you for your reviews, I watched a few, interesting and entertaining too! I gather from them that you are a keen music listener and not much of a phone talker. I'm looking for a good pair for taking on the phone in the car and around the house (I would also use them for music, but not mainly). Which brand would you recommend best for that?

I got these and they were good. Sound is okay and very comfortable. use is very slippy and resulted in me dropping it and one Budd shooting off into some bushes never to be seen again. The find my bud app is useless.

I have the solo 3 headphones. I connect through Bluetooth and the beats app, it worked perfectly.

My biggest complaint is no volume control and the case is extremely slick. I drop it far too often or it easily slips out my pocket.
