The accelerator was pressed after autopilot was engaged. You can see the initial message on the screen that tells you to keep your hands on the wheel, then it changes to the longer message that says autopilot will not brake so long as you keep pressing the accelerator.
The car did exactly what it was supposed to. The driver overrode the safety by pressing the accelerator. Autopilot wasn't in control.

My model y does avoid objects. It successfully stopped when a deer jumped into the road. It may be too cautious as it sometimes slows for phantom objects.

This is a totally rigged and debunked 'experiment' where the driver had their foot on the accelerator which overrides the autopilot settings. Dan O'Dowd - who runs the Dawn Project - owns a software competitor to Tesla and is just looking to nueter a rival with the benefit of click-bait. The low resolution prevents you from seeing the override warnings on the touchscreen, and that is obviously done on purpose (who owns a camera that only shows 480 resolution anymore). If you are really running this test, you wouldn't be hiding under tricks. There have been 'repeat' testing videos all over YouTube, and they all show that the car stops properly to avoid hitting a child.

0:37 There’s a warning that says the car will not slow down with the accelerator pressed.(the warning only shows with the accelerator pressed) The driver is overriding the autopilot and the driver in full control crashed into the mannequin. The video isn’t sufficient evidence. This is the third time trying to “debunk” Tesla and they still give up scales 540p video and “clearly see the accelerator”. No the hell we can’t lmao. Total waste

Interesting, our Mercedes and Volkswagen does way worse than the Tesla in terms of driving autonomously. The Tesla by far is more cautious than the others, sometimes too cautious.

You couldn't use a GoPro or a second camera to show the screen clearer? All the footage seems intentionally low-quality or unstable (like the raw test footage) to obscure the warnings and screen. Making a point by using false info doesn't help any cause.

Amazing no damage to the car. It's well built. Slowing down won't get you to your destination faster. For the speed of efficiency and MPG, minor bump is acceptable. Stop and go is a waste of energy and it's a no no.
