Awesome build. One basic question. How does one slot work as air input, and the other as output? How come air is not blown out through the top slot, or sucked through the bottom slot? May be a dumb question, but I am just curious.

Doing this myself but i used 2 PC fans (12v 1.4amp) 120x120 4" wide (good strong PC fans) facing each other, one just acting as an anchor for the other which is only powered at 5v and it is completely silent.
I glued a pieces of rubber right to the centre of the 2 fans, then fitted the axle that way "Direct Drive" works perfect. At 12v you would probably want it in a heavy casing or fitted tight cause mine nearly took off at first ha plus few fins came lose so need to secure it better

Stuff like this needs a brushless motor, especially since fans are usually run for really long periods of time.

It pretty talented to make a never attempted design that works but also is a final finish product in looks. They usually a proto type attempts model that fine tune then later design for a finish product. So you back ground must have been product design

Cool and very perfectable. Maybe closing more the intake and making the roller tighter.

You could mount one of these just outside a house window vawt style so to harvest random wind that flows past, this could redirect wind inside passively, no matter the wind direction outside, no motor needed.

You should get much better performance if you reverse the pulleys. The motor which can turn at high RPM but with low torque should have the smaller pulley and the blower should have the larger pulley. This kind of motor have poor output when you overload it with a high torque load.

Hi, I'm working on a machine which is request a blower fan. I design and printed 3d printer and I mounted it but result was terrible. Because normally my machine( kind of hedge trimmer) draws 2, 5 ampere but when I added fan its draws 12 - 16 ampere. İt's horrible. Can you share what ampere you are drawing with this machine. Also my blower fan pretty small then your. My B. fan size is height 30mm, diameter is 100 mm and 20 piece teeth. So do you have a any advice or idea what I can do to reduce my drawing current. Also I wonder how many amps your project draws.

Why dont you mount the motor straight to the shaft and remove the belt? Might be quieter.
