I find it's always seemed to make a lot more sense to my electricians on site to explain what side was getting the power from the service panel, and what side was giving the power to the lights, this would help them, remember how to keep the wiring done correctly without making a mistake, it might seem like it's something they should already know but a quick reminder always helped them,

On the 3rd scenario showing the stairway with a switch at the top of stairs and a switch at the bottom of the stairs I see a code problem. There is not a neutral wire in either switch box.
