FORBIDDEN | Quebec Unleashes Black Market with Vape Flavour Ban | RegWatch

Quebec Minister of Health Christian Dubé announced a ban on flavours in nicotine vaping products which could go into effect in only 90 days. Under the proposed regulation, all flavoured vapes, except for tobacco flavoured, will be forbidden in the province.

It’s devastating news for the 250,000 nicotine vapers who rely on various flavours to stay smoke-free. And for the hundreds of small business owners and the thousands of workers in Quebec’s vaping industry, the flavour ban amounts to a death sentence for their businesses.

Joining us today to discuss the impact of the Quebec flavour ban is David Levesque, spokesperson for ABVQ, the association for specialty vape shops in Quebec and founding partner of Digital Smoke Supplies.

This concept is crazy to me, I just started vapeing to quit smoking, it's working like nothing else I've tried, nearly 2 weeks without a cigarette. The variety of flavors is part of what's helping me. If I was stuck to tobacco flavor only, I'd be way more likely to fall back into smoking. But maybe that's the point eh!
Are they banning flavored liquors like the vodka lemonades or Apple ciders, why is that any different towards underage influence.
Canadian governments never fail to make a dumb decision :S

I'll wager that nobody has thought of selling unflavored nicotine vape and letting customers buy flavor concentrates themselves online. In truth it has been thought of in other jurisdictions where flavors have been banned. They sell partially filled bottles to leave room for flavor and there is even an online calculator to figure out how much flavor to add. When I found the calculator I thought it was Canada they were talking about.

The ban is nothing more but money to cig companies. I have been vaping now 10 years. My doctors even think I'm a non smoker because I had a heart and lung test done in 2019 after 7 years of vaping. Flavours is the reason why I like vaping. It's nice taste after a meal. I'm not using salt or high nic vapes are all. Maybe 3 mg at most. Gateway to smoking I have no idea how that can be. IF a kid starts vaping and tastes a cig he would be like YUCK. Vaping you do not lose your taste buds smoking you do.

It’s no coincidence where do you think most of the tobacco companies are in Quebec actually cared about the youth they would be in the use of nicotine not the flavouring in vapes flavouring isn’t what causes the addiction is it

Just Horrible Canada cares more about people taking up smoking cigs then vaping which is still bad but 100 times more safer than cigs. UK did it right.
