Edit on Jul. 31: At 2:43, the 20 seconds of black screen is actually supposed to be video footage of me pronouncing the letter, but I guess it corrupted. It kept on going corrupt during editing, and I thought I fixed it, and I was sure I did, but I guess I didn't watch the final video hard enough.

Hey guys! I made a Korean tutorial teaching you how to read Korean. It is very easy compared to English, to be honest, and I made sure to make this tutorial incredibly detailed with step-by-step processes. You will be able to follow along with the video as you're watching.

This is for people who want to learn Korean, most of whom are probably K-pop fans wishing to learn how to read Korean. If you are one of them, you came to the right video. This video is detailed, not too long, and only delivers the learning content. It actually makes you understand the language and gives you tips on how to memorize Korean faster and easier.

Anyways, I hope you guys found this helpful. If you did, then leave a like. If you want to say anything, leave a comment in the comment section below, and subscribe to my channel. Thanks for watching! Bye.

I'm super late here but.. honestly I've watched a LOT of videos trying to teach this and yours is by far the best of them! Finally my brain isn't panicking with the reading anymore. Thank you so much!! :)

I literally learned more in this short 23 minute video than I have with 6 weeks of Duolingo and reading beginners books. My mind is literally blown 🤯. I’ll be saving this and coming back to it often. Thank you sooo much for this!

I recently got into kpop and was quite proud of "teaching myself" to read hangul by staring at an alphabet chart for half an hour, but reading along to lyrics/subtitles/etc really confused me with the top vs bottom consonants. This was super clear and I have a MUCH better understanding now, none of the other videos i've seen have spelled out the names of the characters (which is such an easy way to understand how they work??? why doesn't anyone else explain that lmao) thank you so much!!

I have been learning Korean for nearly a year and still struggled to understand and learn hangul but after watching this video I can confidently say I was able to read a few subtitles from a kdrama for the first time
thank you

18:12 - This 육월 example is wrong LOL. I found out it's actually spelled 유월 (yoowol), just like how it would sound like.

As a Korean, I feel proud that others are learning Korean.

I've been really wanting to learn this language but I've never been good at concentration and memorization so i was scared to even begin, but the way you put everything made it really easy to start memorizing and using in daily activities, thank you so much!

was attempting to learn korean by myself cause I just got into kpop and have finally come across those videos without english subtitles, and while I was writing things out for practice the top/bottom consonant things and this video helped me out a TON!! It's so much easier to understand, so thanks for that!

out of all the lessons ive ever seen, none of them have ever taught about the bottom sounds!! especially how the actual names of the letters literally spell it out for you on how to use them at the top and bottom. I also havent seen lessons on pronouncing when there are two letters at the bottom !! thank u!!

I've been trying to learn hangeul and I haven't really paid attention to the characters' names but I realized through this video that they actually give you a clue in terms of pronunciation. Not even one of the tutorials I have watched before mentioned that. I really thought that's just how you call them. thanks so much!

A lot of people have told me in the comments that apparently this is one of the very few videos that explain bottom consonants. I’m really surprised that other videos don’t, because bottom consonants are extremely common in Korean and you absolutely need to know them to read Korean.
*P.S: I understand the video might go a bit fast for those who don't know Korean at all. If you think the video goes too fast, go to Settings and slow the speed down. I recorded this video in my regular talking speed because any slower would've been too slow for my liking. Thanks.*
Thought I'd add a fun fact here: This video only had 400 views as of March 2022. So thanks everyone for watching!

I'm an absolute beginner in learning Hangul but this video was really helpful! Thank you for expressing everything so clearly and methodically!

This is one of the best videos to understand Hangul so far! It was so easy to understand and your methodology is spot on. I started to learn Korean a few weeks ago and you clarified most of the questions I had with top & bottom sounds. Thanks for this amazing video!

It really surprises me that more apps don’t go in depth about top and bottom sounds, both eggbun and duolingo use them but they don’t give you proper context about why the sound has changed suddenly 😭

I’m Japanese so the rieul and double consonant pronouciations were quite easy!

BY THE WAY, in Japanese there is a circle voicing mark, so there are actually some circles in Japanese, but they will almost always be on the top right of the character

I am Korean and was born in Korea and is living in Korea and I say this is a pretty exceptional video in understanding and pronouncing Korean characters.

This is two years old and super underwatched for probably the best Hangul breakdown I’ve seen. I keep restarting my Korean learning and I legitimately don’t think I’ve ever gotten bottom consonants in one of these. I think it just doesn’t come up in any of the other “be able read Korean in 30 minutes” videos and gets reserved as a “you’ll learn about those when you get to advanced vocabulary” types of things
