Beacons being only visible from 64 blocks is such a shame.

I mean, it's in the name "beacon", you should be able to see the beam from far far away.

Bedrock does actually have color mixing with beacons, and has for a while now. That's why the orange in your rainbow was orange-red, and the yellow was yellow-orange. It's hard to spot because the most recent color is weighted so heavily. I remember first figuring it out when the beacons through my starter base were suddenly no longer the same color at the top, but instead they're extra red from the section below.

1:13 is that true for every bedrock seed? because my base is pretty close to there so I can make a tunnel there and fight my withers there instead of going to caves

Gave the Bedrock Wither a shot recently. Really wasn't that difficult, I had three golden apples, strength potions, a Power V bow, a Smite V sword and Protection IV diamond armor. I also spawned him at the bedrock layer.
If you're prepared, it's a breeze.

I don't make beacons very often anymore, but when I do, I like to make a machine that keeps changing the color by pistoning glass around.. Since it's usually really low down in my world, I normally can't hear the machine running while I'm doing whatever.
