For achieving the balance such as on the mathame track, with lower hats, should I use multiband compressor/limiter on the mastering?

I have been trying to do that type of balance on my tracks, but what happens is that cause I'm lowering the hats, I can't reach a great loudness (around -8 or -9 LUFS)... What should I do to get this right?

Interesting approach. I always prefer to set high FFT (usually 8k) and then eventually use Smoothing function eg. 1 octave to have accurate analysis. Ps. it's even more fun with FFT at 64 - perfect for equalizing Kick ;)

What about the mids? I get so stuck on where sounds should sit in the mix :( make an ARP… not sure where it should sit / make a lead. Not sure where it should sit. Make a pad. And so on lol would help so much to understand this

Thanks.What would you recommend for trance with bright saw leads appearing often in verses and choruses.
Mine currect track has top end saw lead + percs above level of low end.When removing saw lead all comes back to levels you talk about.

Don’t forget to set the slope of each span instance correct. Also sidechain with a vst2 version is a good way

First of all thanks for the tips. After you boosted the high end the master started peaking at -3 db and even more. How do you manage to stay below -6db like industry standard?

Great info, pro MB is an excellent little plugin I like to use to keep the midrange somewhat controlled.
