Dealing With People Who Waste Your Time

I'm a bus driver and I have the same problem with some of the drivers who will come on my bus for a chat and one driver in particular constantly makes me late. So annoying. It's like he needs constant attention and he talks about himself. Its boring. I've told him we are friends incase he thinks I fancy him and he didnt take it well plus he gets in my personal space. Some people just think you are so interested in what they have to say when they actually are saying nothing at all. Hes starting to bug the hell out of me x

I attract time wasters and to be honest, I be wanting to throw my shoe at them. I have had time wasted invite me to shit just to not even participate and have me just sitting around

Just start to ignore people who annoy you keep quiet answer without asking questions and walk away

This is old but I just found it, been dealing with too many time wasters. I have time waster clients that come in and when I see them through my office window, I pick up a piece of paper and pen and my phone and hold it with my left any along with the pen/paper giving them that "look busy" and the first thing they say is I'm sorry for wasting your time, And I say Oh, no problem I'm sure it's going to be brief, I have to get back to giving someone a quote"

I can understand this. I agree that a lot of people in meetings waste time! Small talk is not want I want to hear when you have 50 other task.
I am concerned that when you treat coworkers as the guy you spoke of did, you come across rude, non-caring, and could care less if the person has all the tools need. This person could be a mentor that no one wants to go back to for questions. I don’t believe in this approach as I’ve worked with people like this an they are just miserable in their career and that’s why they act that way!

Want to end time wasters in an office? Make your office remote. No one can walk to your desk and just blather. Work gets done; time wasters end up fired. Any company that moved into a virtual setting only to return to an office made a decision to waste time.
