Well togo got an amazing movie out of it, the movie brought my whole family to tears

Love that all those dogs frontiered what is now known at the Iditarod which runs the same course that they had as well and is solely for dog sledding purposes.

The important thing is that they accomplished their mission, and prevented a lot of deaths. Good Dogs.

Togo was totally not jelly about it all the fame Balto got in the end.

Funny enough I live in Alaska and my sled dogs go all the way back to Leonard Seppala’s dogs as well as Togo

My sister went to a girl scout camp called TogoWood, named in honor of this lead dog.

While somewhat controversial, both these great dogs got their due eventually. Both now have statues, national recognition, and films. Btw the 1995 Balto film, while historically inaccurate in some aspects, is hands down one of the best animated films of the 90's, even if it technically bombed in the box office. Trust me, watch it. Itll be the best damn 90 minutes

Togo Should have been given the same Honor in fact I say More poor Togo...if it wasn't for him nothing would have worked out he is the Real Hero💝

Regardless the fact that balto’s team actually continued on passed another team due to that team being a sleep is what counts, because the clock was ticking and the mission outweighed the bs of dealing with an unprepared team.

Given how Balto was treated basically like an amusement park attraction after this... Togo was probably glad to be overlooked in his time.

Hats off to all the dogs that helped save that child(ren?)’s lives. Including the ones that died.

Togo did also do the most dangerous leg of the relay, but his musher did nearly blow the whole operation

My highschool here is Quebec had a husky as a mascot and the student body was split up into 4 houses named after famous sleddogs, including Balto which was Red, Togo which was green, Polaris which was blue, and Kolyma which was yellow. Interestingly enough Togo was always at the top of the leaderboard for quite a long time

It's so awesome. I remember as a young boy, I had a toy plushie based off of Balto and watched the movies. There is also a statue in Central Park NY of Balto the dog as well!
