Wow, it's been a MINUTE since Manjeet made an appearance, but I had to pull him out of the vault for this trend. Couldn't even find the wig, so he got a haircut I guess? Lmao

I don't know if you can relate, but this trend hits a deep place in my soul. Perhaps because one of my earliest videos was
"How to be the perfect Brown girl," which made commentary on the lengths women have to go to be accepted and desired. And even though I laugh at videos like this, the truth is, growing up I did spend a lot of time and effort into trying to be desirable.

As a young girl, I was so insecure and obsessed over my body hair. I would read magazine articles about how to lighten my armpits, soften my skin, and the classic "10 ways to get his attention!" It's okay to want to look and feel great, but the reason was never for myself back then, like I'm happy to say it is now.

I'm so happy that I feel a cultural shift happening amongst women right now, where we are continuing to reclaim our bodies, souls, minds, and power. Nothing makes me happier.
