Anyone who wants to 'work in tech' probably hasn't worked in tech or understands what is involved. It's not nearly as glamorous as it's perceived by people outside of the tech scene. You WILL make up the high paying aspect of the job with extra hours (on-call) and staying current with services, industry trends, new training etc. Every 18 months you must refresh your skillset with the latest technologies. Don't expect 9-5 / work life balance if you get in tech.

Although he might be right, remember Ramsey is also very mindful of their "trusted partners with a heart of a teacher" commissions.
Always be mindful of people's motives behind what they say - its not just their words!

You can learn coding on your own. Without having to pay 16k for it. There's lots of free information out there.

What about quitting a safe job where I am miserable, in order to "kick my own butt" to focus on applying to new jobs in the same field because doing this current job drains my energy too much to finish resume and interview prep...

"Tech and coding doesn't pay as much ($80k) as I make now"
Dude, *INTERNS* at Google make $110k. Entry level is $200k+
This guy has clearly done zero research.

$15K to learn to code? There are far cheaper ways to do it. Most devs will tell you bootcamps are a waste of money.

I would be wary about starting that career track in your 40s… going to be competing with lots of young grads, long long hours and weekends of work … fine in your 20s but do you really want to be doing that in your 40s with a family??
