I am still using a 2019 M17 R5. GTX 1070, i7 8750 and 16GB. Got it running fine on W11 and still chugs well at 1080p gaming, still plenty of power for modeling and video editing. Really liking the 18 inch, as mine with some peripherals and a monitor is my whole setup.

On a 14 inch screen 1440p or 1600p is noticeably more crisp than 1080 or 1200. Yeah it requires more gpu power but lots of games have render scale options allowing for the UI to remain at full resolution while the game renders at a lower resolution. There’s also dlss. So I prefer having a higher res screen

If you can notice the pixels @ 1080p on 17", then you can definitely notice them on a 24" one. I don't see a point in going for a higher resolution on laptops...

I'm really disappointed that there are no OLED or at least Mini-LED screens in the 16inch machines. I was waiting for this gen of CPU/GPU to buy my new Alienware. I think I might go to Razer or Asus, both of whom have MiniLED screens. Actually that dual mode 4k MiniLED screen on the Razer sounds insane! After using a 15 inch 4k OLED screen on my current Alienware, I can't go back to regular LCD/LED screens. The visual difference is night and day!

The pixels are not stretched out. It's just more pixels. If you are fine with the 1080p 17'' inches, you will be fine with 1200p 18''' inches.

Looks like they are still having some issues with the Tron lights (aka Stadium) were some LEDs are faulty or with different colors. I had mine replaced on my M15 R6 for these reason.

Pretty interested in the amd advantage version of the M16. If it could perform near a 4070 with a 4060 price and offer good battery life, as amd machines do, it'll be legendary.

@Jarrod when these are reviewed can you PLEASE test which video output connects to the dGPU? I have tried on both the 2022 X14 and Blade 14 per your reviews to disable Optimus in order to get the USB-C/TB ports to connect to dGPU however neither has worked. This is a key requirement for a new laptop for me since I'm often docked to external G-Sync monitors. Thanks!
