There are over a million ps3s still being played online. PS4 isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. The install base is too huge to ignore.

The biggest problem here is the newer consoles still haven’t had a price drop unlike other generations so how do they expect most ppl to upgrade it’s been almost 4 years in.

Remember half of Sony's PlayStation console user base is on the PS4 still almost 4 years into the PS5. That is a huge problem. Usually by now they think about a price cut but the opposite happened.

There's no good PS5 games, why does it need to die? PS4 still has a large player base that don't see the need to upgrade, devopers have no choice to support it if they want to make money.

Honestly, not having a price cut 4 years into the generation is why more people haven’t moved on to these next gen systems. PS5 technically had a price increase for the all digital version which is crazy.

There are 49 million active ps4 users. You have to give those people something you cant just abandon them.

Playstation 4 will never die. It's an amazing system.

It's weird because PS4 and PS5 games are nearly identical. Both consoles are built on x86. So it's really easy for deves to take a game that's new and optimize it for 8th gen. There are significant quality of life improvments with the PS5 but they can both still do the job... You also have to take into account the economy. People are broke, living paycheck to paycheck, can barely afford food, shelling out a fortune on rent. It's bad.

Don't let PS4 die, the PS4 games can be stored in a hdd while PS5 can only be stored in an expensive mini capacity SSD.
