Sharpening Fiskars reel mower without the kit

This is how you can sharpen the Fiskars reel mower without spending 30$ on the kit.
The lapping compound I got at AutoZone for about 4$ the 32mm socket and drill bit attachment I had laying around. Basically just spread the compound on each of the blades and spin the blades with the drill. Afterward you'll have to adjust the blade with the screws, I usually adjust it and take a strip of paper and see how it cuts on the left middle and right side

I got a 32mm socket, its too small! But good video. The small principle will work on my scott's reel mower, but few changes.

Why didn’t you record the entire process?

You will damage the sprocket doing it that way. Eventually you'll start throwing the drive chain.

I will give this a try! Is this the correct bit size? 3/8" bit socket 7/32"?

Thank you for your video. Did you have to remove the chain before sharpening the blades?

Couldn’t you just take the sprocket off and install the rod right in the chuck of the drill?

did you have to move the blade into contact with the bar first? I have the staysharp plus, so similar to yours but it's the one without the chain. Haven't popped the wheel off yet but the thought of spending $45 on a ridiculous aluminum crank makes me want to come up with an alternative.

What??? Not sure how this sharpened it. The compound never came out of the package & you made the blades spin, that's all.
