I like what they've been doing with Cena. He is not the focal point of the entire product anymore, he is not being blindly put over PPV after PPV, he is on the secondary show playing the role of the veteran who can still go. Undertaker had the same role in 2003. By all means, I fully expect the guy to win the world title again before he retires, but it's very clear that the company doesn't put all of their eggs in the Cena basket anymore.

There's only one replacement for John Cena in the eyes of the true fans: Seth Rollins. He's doing an amazing job as a heel, but he really needs to turn face. He could truly be the next bonafide franchise player.

AJ Styles is 39, Finn Balor is 35, Brock Lesnar is a part-time attraction, Dean Ambrose can be one of the top faces of WWE, but not THE top face.

But knowing Vince McMahon, he probably still wants Roman Reigns as the next franchise player, despite the way he's been booked recently, or if that doesn't pan out, it could be Big Cass. This cannot happen at any cost.
