Trump Tower Meeting Details Revealed

"Special counsel Robert Mueller's office "found no documentary evidence" that showed President Donald Trump knew about the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting between top campaign officials and a Kremlin-connected lawyer ahead of time, according to his redacted report released Thursday.

Trump, Mueller's redacted report reveals, became aware of the emails arranging the meeting between his son Donald Trump Jr., then-campaign chairman Paul Manafort, son-in-law Jared Kushner, and the Russian attorney, by June 2017. The president sought to keep those emails secret, according to the report, though once it became clear the meeting would become public knowledge, Trump dictated a misleading statement to the press, which the report notes doesn't constitute obstruction of justice.

"According to written answers submitted by President Trump, he has no recollection of learning of the meeting at the time, and the Office found no documentary evidence showing that he was made aware of the meeting — or its Russian connection — before it occurred," Mueller wrote in his report."

I was under the impression that ignorance of the law isn’t a defense.

I've been told ignorance of the law isn't an excuse, in court.

Meanwhile, black people are getting charged with "accessory after the fact" for crimes they weren't even aware of

Hi officer, i didnt know the speed limit was only 55 mph on this road.... try that as a defense next time a cop pulls you over and see how well that works for you.

*Everyone else in America:*
Ignorance of the law is no excuse.

*Corporatocratic rulers and their descendants:*
I "didn't know" so I can't have committed a crime!

Next time a cop stops you for speeding just say you didn't know that was against the law. I'm sure he'll let you go

I've been told that ignorance of the law is no excuse. That was before I went to jail.

Special thanks, to Billy Barr, Jay Sekulow & the Trump defense team for clarifying you can go into a 7/11 to rob it but it's not a crime if the till is empty. Prison inmates everywhere will be putting the 'Donnie Jr. Defense' forward in their appeals.

Since when is "I didn't know that was illegal" a valid defense?

my parents always said. 'Ignorance is no excuse for the law' - just because u didn't know u were breaking the law, does not mean u didn't do it.  and, I whole=heartedly agree with you conclusions <3  keep doing what you're doing!

I've spent a lot of time in court rooms, not as the defendant, thankfully. I have seen judges tell defendant after defendant, over and over, that ignorance of the law is NOT a defense, and does not prove innocence, only ignorance. I've seen dozens of people go to jail for crimes they didn't know were crimes.

i honestly can see no logical reason how Mueller could not define this as collusion. this makes me question whether Mueller is really a man of integrity now like everybody says. i know he is an honorable war veteran and i dont question his prestigious military career. i do however question his intentions in this investigation as to if he really applied the law justly against trump.

If everyone else in America can be jailed for not complying with written law whether or NOT we are knowledgeable about said laws -- then Trump should be held accountable, too. I thought we were all TIRED of the rich being given special treatment.
