2024 BMW X5 M60i VS Audi SQ8! What’s The Better V8 Luxury SUV?

👋 In todays head to head comparison, we take a look at the 2024 BMW X5 M60i and the Audi SQ8! These are both luxury focused two row SUV's that have some performance and a lot of options!
The 2024 BMW X5 M60i is one trim level below the Competition and offers plenty! With the twin turbo V8, it can tow and is also a great daily driver! The BMW X5 is BMW's most popular vehicle! The exterior has a nice sporty look with some crisp lines and with the M Sport package, it blacks out a lot of the accents which I think looks great! The interior has nice materials, great technology and very user friendly.
The Audi SQ8 is also one trim level below the RSQ8 and still has plenty to offer! Also paired with a twin turbo engine, this can move! It has a great exhaust note to it as well! The exterior on the Audi is more slim and curved VS the BMW. It has that sportback design in the rear which just gives it a slightly different look! The rest of the exterior has nice lines and this model also has the black optics package to black out the emblems! The interior is also very nice with the materials, tech and ease of use!
The driving experience between both of these luxury focused SUV's was honestly very similar! Both of these models do offer the adaptive suspension to offer even more of a comfortable ride, but they are both quiet and great for daily driving! Driving them back to back, it's really hard to pick which one I would rather own (PS, I do own an X5 :)), but both are great options and it just depends on which exterior, interior and the comfort you have behind the wheel!

I've had my '21 SQ8 for a couple of years now (it does have rear steering and the active suspension) - which replaced my '19 Q8 because I wanted a bit more poke (this offers quite a lot more than "a bit"). It's mostly been a good experience aside from some minor electronic gremlins here and there. X5 is a great car, I just see too many of them on the road where I live.

I was driving on Highway with my m340i, and all of a sudden this x5 m60i came in guns blazing, we had a nice long drive, I was just following it for the fun, but man that car must have been doing 130 easy.

X5 just looks so much better inside and out. The seats, carbon fiber trim, ambient lighting.. Even though i prefer the x6. BMW makes the best engaging drivers car for SUVs. Frozen black is my fav bmw color rn.

If you like the SQ8 grunt, you get the same in the "sleeper" SQ7...but with better cargo capacity to match the X5😊 Both makers V8s are true gems.

I think the SQ8 vs X6 would be a better comparison if you are looking at the exterior but otherwise I love the X5.

SQ8 sure looks like a great competitor to Porsche, BMW, AMG

Currently drive an X5 but am looking for either one of these. My car is the 6 cylinder, but I’m going V8 next time. Before being forced to EV lol

Incorrect info on the Audi. It does have 4 wheel steering as standard.

The X5 have a soft limiter for the first 300 or so miles, you can’t rev past 4000 rpm. I think after the break-in, it will sound MUCH better. We just ordered our x5 m60i last week, we are coming out of a Q7 Prestige, which has been absolutely fantastic. But Audi’s reliability has fell below Range Rovers, that instantly pushed us away.

I think the Audi Q7 or SQ7 competes more with the X5M 60. The SQ8 is In another class for sure. I would take the BMW because maintenance will cheaper and it’s larger and better reliability.

packaging and wheels tire options better on the Audi. On the X5 can only get air suspension if you forego dynamic handling and the active roll bars. Can only get non run flats in 22s with super low profile tires on the X5. Both excellent cars.
