Actually her argument is wrong. She thinks free markets allowed the rich to socialize there losses and privatize their gains. It’s actually the lack of a free market doing that. All the rich and wealthy ought to have just been allowed to fail, that’s a free market. In a free market there is no such thing as too big to fail. So what we have is not a free market but a rigged market. She’s right about how we got a rigged market, but she argues it’s a free market that got us there. It’s not.

Look my issue with the great reset is “you will own nothing, and you will be happy”

I’m sorry but being able to drive with my car that I own makes me happy. Being able to come home to a house that I own then cuddle girl under the roof of said house makes me happy. If your plan is to make it where everyone is renting house or apartments then who owns those house and apartments. The memo was “you will own nothing, and you will be happy” which tells me the government is owning the houses and apartments which at that point we are getting to Emperor Palpatine levels of power for the government (if you don’t believe watch the clone wars show. He slowly asked for more and more control of things until the war was over and look at that he never gave up that power). Fuck the reset.

Thinking of resources as a fixed pie is a fundamental mistake. The whole pie grows larger not to mention new pies are constantly being invented.

Well, you're right about the first layer. The fundamental role of any economic system is to distribute scarce resources. You lost me on the second layer, though. The economy as we know it is in no way dependent on how we take care of one another--it is dependent on the rule of law, the enforcement of said law, and the monetary system underlying transactions involving said scarce resources. Your true social responsibility is to produce more than you consume in your life, otherwise you are a net negative to the world. The world would be a better place if we all accepted that responsibility as individuals and did our best to add value.

Great animation but the title was about a reset. So ...what does a reset mean to ordinary people? What will happen to my savings? Will there be inflation or deflation? Will the government change the currency without notice and decide how much my money was worth equivalent? What can we reasonably predict?
