I've been using my friend's vr headset, and only doing normal mode. But now that I have my own, I'm able to do hard mode!

the challenge yourself one is definitely the most important for me. i was stuck on the expert mode version of a level for a good three days so i decided to practice the expert plus mode for a few hours. and after getting about 1/4 of the way through the expert plus i went back to the expert mode and to my surprise i beat it in 2 tries. i always have been trying to do a few stupidly hard songs just so my brain can rev up and feel those fast nots a bit.

3:01 Turning on No Fail was the one thing that helped me most. I was stuck on an expert song, failing about a third of the way in, so I decided to turn on No Fail and just have fun, not caring how many blocks I hit. To my surprise at the end I had 9 out of 10 good cuts (still would have failed in normal mode as many were in sequence). Every time after that I reduced my number of bad cuts on no fail mode by around 5 each time. The next day I could turn off no fail mode and a couple of days later I did a Full Combo! Now it's still less than a week and I'm disappointed if I DON'T get a Full Combo! So No Fail mode was the key, although I still prefer to keep the speed at 100% because it helps your timing.

another trick that helped me is : no fail mode and only hitting one color. I found that practicing the right hand and left hand separately made it easier to learn some counter-intuitive mappings

Taking daily breaks is a good thing to get used to when playing beatsaber. Or mabye even just hourly breaks. It will help you perform better.

I just got my oculus on Christmas and I’m already playing songs on hard and expert! I honestly love beat saber and I can’t wait to incorporate these tips next time I play! Hopefully I’ll be at Expert + by next week!

You don't *have* to change your grips, I don't, but some find themselves much improved with using a grip.

"Get custom sabers" - Best Trick! I had to play with the normal sabers for 2 days because my mods were broken. It sucks! With my thin and longer sabers I am much much muuuch better.

the colours i tend to use are bright lime green and a similar purple to what he did, u tend to keep dark colours on the right and bright colours on the left. if the colours are very different and u trained your mind to know what is what it does make it a lot easier to not get them confused. the colours tip was guddd

I'm a non-gamer who is into hobbies such as software development and fountain pens/handwriting, I'm also overweight. So I'm pretty much the last person who would get into VR. I just got a Quest 2 and beat saber. I've never been able to get into most games, but this seems to be the one. I failed on easy when I got the headset and game last week. But thanks in part to your video, I've managed to pass a hard stage. I was absolutely thrilled when I passed. It just feels so good, not only to play, but also my body is thanking me for actually working up a sweat for once. Thank you for the tips, they've been very helpful.

Everybody else is talking about how they just started hard mode... I got my oculus yesterday and I started on hard, I have a feeling those few thousand hours on osu are finally rubbing off...

I can do expert songs but i mostly play on hard. I'm 41 years old and have a bad back and playing beatsaber really helps loosen me up. My personal goal are getting SS on hard on as many maps as i can. I will start trying some of the songs i find too easy on expert soon though.

bonus tips turn off debris turn off note spawn effect turn on static lights and if your reaction times are lacking turn note spawn offset to close or closer so when you go back to default or stay the same you will notice i big difference in reaction time im currently at close for note spawn offset its best for me because right when the note spawns i can swing and it will hit also if the blocks are spawning to high then go in player settings and for the height dont stand strait or stand lower and click the meter stick then the blocks will spawn lower and if they spawn to low then stand as strait as you can or stand on something (MAKE SURE ITS STABLE AND YOU WONT FALL) then click the meter stick and if you play beat saber with other people on the same headset or your fine with the note spawn height then put it on automatic measurement or whatever its called well those are some bonus tips from me.

I started using the claw grip about 3 weeks ago and since then I've just been getting better and better, beat my first 3 expert plus levels since

I'm not at expert+ yet and still struggling with expert but when I warm up I play songs I know on a easier mode like normal and turn the speed to 200%. That brings you into a speed rush when you try to actually hit every block and makes it seem slow when you play a harder mode on normal speed so you actually have more time to think as your brain still is used to the high speed

One of the few videos out there with actually useful tips for beat saber. Great work!

i know for a fact, trying incredibly hard levels to adapt really helps. i came back to beat saber after almost a year and had pretty much no experience that got me further than Expert on some levels. when i got halfway through the campaign, i decided to take Devourer Of Gods out for a spin

let me just say, my arms and shoulders absolutely hate me for making that decision, but after trying it a few hours a day for 2 days, i actally managed to get all te way to 5 minutes, 48 seconds into the song, about half way, and now many official levels feel actually doable now, even a good amount of the expert+ ones

the fact that i improved so quickly could have something to do with year old muscle memory being dug up from the catacombs of my brain, but i know for sure, challenging yourself early on does work

I already knew a couple of these, but the color contrast helped a ton! I managed to get my first expert FC with that tip
