My tip: if you're alone, bored and feel the impulse to fill that boredom with an unhealthy habit (doom scrolling, binging, smoking, drinking, etc) cold call a close friend or loved one instead. Not to talk about that impulse but just to catch up with someone who you care about. In my experience this always leaves me feeling energized, connected, fulfilled, and much better than said habit ever could :)

My little tip: A lot of menial activities can easily be made fun if you just do them with a friend, or loved one. It turns something boring into a good time, and brings you closer to them.

Love it. “Wear the clothes your body chooses” is a great rule and much better than wearing a black turtleneck every day.

A tip I learnt this year - if you get a hunch that someone is having a tough time send them a message or call them to check in - a simple "hey you seemed a bit low today, anything I can do?" is enough. Don't hold back for some daft excuse your ego comes up with like they will think I am interfering / I don't know them well enough

Man, I really hope there will be a "68 ways to be better at life" of you someday. Your videos are simply amazing, please never stop making them as long as you enjoy it! :)

GREAT list! Here's my input about LAUNDRY: The transitional place is hooks. Great for jackets, jammies, jeans you only wore for a couple hours. Things that aren't dirty, but you don't want to fold and put away. It keeps things up and not getting wrinkled at the bottom of a pile. Then you can use the chair for sitting. Also, put the laundry basket where you're dropping your dirty clothes anyway. Voila--organized. Wash in cold water and don't bother sorting colours, and don't fold stuff that doesn't matter. Buy all matching socks in those multi-packs and you'll never have to sort. Have dedicated baskets for towels & washcloths, socks & undies, bed linens, everyday clothes. If your dresser is piled with clean clothes, get rid of it and use bins--no lids! Way easier to toss clean clothes into. I bring some bins into the laundry room and clean clothes go straight into the bins from the dryer. Done. Life is too short to deal with Laundry Friction Points!

My personal tip that I learned while getting older: When in a social situation where drinking is normal, just stick to one drink and then switch to non-alcoholic. It's usually not worth it to drink more (at least for me) and the energy and time you save that your body would need for recovery or not being hung over the next day is usually much more important for me.

I’m mentally and physically disabled and your videos make me feel better about being different and having a brain that works differently. I get some relief from the feeling that I’m falling behind or in a hurry, even if it’s for the duration of the video. I hope these videos are as healing for you as they are for me. Thank you.

When I think how insecure you use to be in your videos (but still very likable) and now, you are this prototype of a cool succesful, interesting, inteligent, creative person I really want to become one day - i can honestly say, you made it man! You are living the life! Thank you for keeping me inspired🙌🏼❤️

I did the "buy the book" thing for awhile until one day I was at a used bookstore and found a book I'd given someone on a shelf. My heartfelt note was written on the inside cover and I have a strong hunch they never saw it 😂

Having lived as a Buddhist monk for several years where there were loads of list of what made good husband, how to live long etc. It feels like this is the layman's version of those texts. Absolutely stellar stuff!

Thank you for creating all this great content :)

Genuinely in my top 5 all time favorite YouTubers. What you said about the guy giving specific and memorable advice instead of little “platitudes” literally reflects what you do on your whole channel. Your videos helped me get out of my head and feel better about the way my life’s going. I tend to be someone who feels unproductive and undeserving of my achievements but I’m starting to gain perspective and realize what I am proud of and what I WANT to improve (self-worth, patience) rather than what I think I SHOULD improve (forcing myself to be on top everything all the time even though that ends up draining me even more). You’re the best at making me feel like I’m right where I should be and what happens next is up to me.

Even if you can't use your legs, if you have a good wheelchair, taking a walk is divine. I've been in a wheelchair now for over 7 years, but strolling in my power chair around the neighborhood or through the park is the best mental health hack I've ever found. Seeing nature change from day to day, dodging traffic, figuring out how to get around an obstacle, and just being outside clears my head and lifts my mood.

i stand behind number 13 100%, the way complete strangers seem to light up whenever i compliment them, i remember in koln, germany, a girl skated past with this AMAZING backpack so i just shouted after her how cool it was, and she smiled so wide! that one compliment might just make a difference, but not just for them, also for you.

Tip #10 at 4:12 is pure gold.

My tip is: "You're not hungry - you're bored." I still remember the moment I had an epiphany about this, back when I used to live with my folks, and I was looking in the fridge and it hit me. So I acknowledged it by saying it aloud, and then went to find something more productive to do. I definitely think it was because I had this epiphany several years prior that I gained no "snack weight" during the 2020 quarantine.

Please note: if your stomach is growling, you are legitimately hungry and you should eat. But you should eat a meal, not snacks. (In my opinion, the whole concept of snacking is mostly fueled by boredom. There are some exceptions, like unexpectedly having to work a long shift, and you need to eat something in a hurry on your break. Other than that kind of situation, though, snacks tend to be purely recreational. Think it over for a bit, and you'll see what I mean.)

Walking is a great life hack, it’s so simple and easy that people have forgotten it’s true value on the mind and body.

I love these sort of lists because they are made for the person presenting it and will only widen your views on what others find important.

One tip that changed my life this year is that sometimes overcommitting can be a helpful tool when you struggle to build a good habit. For me, this was building a habit to go to the gym and ACTUALLY push myself, not just go for the sake of going. I did this by entering my first ever powerlifting competition and buying all the paraphernalia you need to commit. I found this would make me feel bad about not going to the gym because I spent so much money on it and had committed to competing. TBH it really helped me build a good habit and I'm glad I did it because not only have I met some awesome people, but I feel a lot better about myself too
