Keto and intermittent fasting cured my type 2 diabetes in 12 weeks. A1C went from 7.4 to 5.3! It has been 6 months with no diabetic medication. I am 70 years old. Keto for life! Thank you so much.🌺💕

As a FORMER Type 2 diabetic, i can personally attest to all that the good doctor is saying. Thanks to a ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting I went from an A1c of 7.3 to my current A1c of 5.1. My weight has gone from 230lbs to 160lbs (and is still going down). All this was, in fact, relatively easy once the craving for sweets and the like went away. And to top it all off comes the wonderful mental clarity one gets from the ketogenic diet, it's almost unbelievable.

I am so grateful these new studies are starting to come out. The only problem is: we need more. Who else besides Virta have ongoing studies? I think Dr. Jason Fung's group has a 5 year study close to releasing data. Anyone else? Thank you for sharing this

Thank you! Let’s slap the crap out of the ADA! I was put on that diet and it drove up my blood sugar. Keto has dropped it!

Great presentation! This answered so many of my questions, which had been left unanswered by my medical team and my own discovery process. I already 'feel' better on the Keto plan (at 30 days), but didn't understand how weaning off insulin injections would occur. I feel more confident now! Thank you so much!!

When I talk about this to family or friends.... their first response is.... This way of eating is for diabetes.... Then I say No its how we all should be eating fulltime and long and of course... they go on and on about everything is moderation... ugh how I don't like that saying. I wish the title could be.... . Stop your sickness or feel 100% better for life.

Great talk! It's good to see the differences in the diet studies for T2D. Thank you for the clarifications, and the confirmation that Ketogenic Diet does improve the health of people living with T2D.

Great talk. The only thing that is missing, in my opinion, is that she said nothing about food processing.

Besides the fact that carb intake went up and fat intake went down in the last 50 years, food processing aggrevated the problem enormously.

Carb intake went up AND a large part of the carbs got replaced with processed/refined carbs. Basically, pure sugar was added and the absorption slowing fiber was removed largely. This causes high insuline spikes followed by a hypoglycemic phase which causes people to crave more sugar and eat more frequent.

Fat intake went down AND saturated fat got replaced with polyunsaturated fat, mostly in the form of inflamatory omega 6 fats. These come from vegetable oils.

In my opinion, the increase of processed carbs and the increase of polyunsaturated fats are a big deal. Not only do they make you sick, they also cause an increase in sodium intake and a reduction in other minerals intake (which causes high blood pressure).

Maybe this kind of information just complicates understanding of the problem and that's why she leaves it out, I don't know.

What I do know is that High Carb is starting, slowly still, lose appeal. In fact, I think within 10 years, carbs will be starting to get the bad rep that fats have now.

The reason is simple. People who go low carb, simply lose weight and keep it off. Low carb is so easy to sustain that it will become so visible that social pressure to go low carb becomes higher and higher.

It's just a matter of time.

I love your lectures. You speak truth to power. Look at your health issues as you do diabetes. Same thing, different name. You can help yourself. I wish you well.

As a Type 1, some of that $400 billion cost is the ever increasing cost of insulin. Lantus vial cost about $400, which is about a 500% increase.
