157, 000 vs almost 700, 000 hardly proves your side maybe check the stats I don't know, also do not take your aggression about your inability to pass the technician class on hams, just a thought

Because of you, I have been a proud owner of two, yes two, Baofeng UV 5R radios for a week now. I will probably get my gmrs license here shortly to use my sweet radio kinda legally, even though it works just fine on ham and gmrs without one. My friend took one about 3 fars away to his house and we chatted just fine. I did order the big batteries to impress my wife, no change so far but I'm expecting panties to be dropped any day now.
Thanks for all your great videos.

Being a GMRS user and a Happy Ham, there are great uses for both. I use what best fits my needs.

I have been a ham for over 25 years, and think you were right on.

I love all the ham guys complaining at the lack of following FCC rules as they use their modified ham radios to talk on gmrs.

Absolutely right. Everyone should use what suits him or her the best. If you dont want to take a test and communicate locally, get a gmrs license. If youre interested shortwave dx, amateur radio satellites, dmr, etc. get a ham license. No need to treat someone with disrespect because of their choice. Radio operator is radio operator, no matter if ham or gmrs.

I have a GMRS and a ham license. If "The Grid" goes down, I have comms. If "The Grid" is fine, I can B.S. over the radio.
When I want to talk to normal people, I use GMRS.
When I want to talk to nerds, I use ham.
CB is fun too, and is the best of both worlds and license free.
They all have their uses for different situations and different people - You do you.

I'm HAM operator from about 6 years and I don' know why I'm watching this. I live in Poland and we have no GMRS service here. I'm not interested in offroading.
But I really LOVE your videos and I will come back even if information you sharing is mostly unusable in my country.

We have a best SAD HAM forum on the internet in Poland, maybe I can sometimes share and translate a comments from this forum and I'm sure it will be pinned every time.

We used to use CB's then VHF, but swapped to GMRS . We use it hunting, four wheeling and fishing. The gear is cheap enough and range here in Florida is about 7-10 miles.Thats plenty fars for me.

I have been a ham radio operator for exactly one week now and I can authoritatively say having my whole family being able to use one call sign is pretty cool 😎

Also people consider that to use an amateur 2 meter hand held you have to go thru a repeater. The Federal Communications Comission (FCC) has determined repeatedly that a repeater is not a public system, rather it is a privately owned radio system. The owner can ban a person off "THEIR" repeater. If the banned person does not listen there are financial penalties. Hence bottom line GMRS would probably be the better option.

Well I have been a ham for about 36 years. I’m now an extra (the highest license). I say use whatever works for you, even if it’s CB. Not everyone wants to be a communications super geek bouncing radio signals off comets. Fortunately we now have GMRS and FRS so you no longer have to be a ham. Hams should understand that.

I get an instant smile on my face when I hear that organ play at the beginning of your videos, hilarious.

My husband is an avid fan of this channel. I have to say it’s one of the best videos on YouTube. 🤩

In more than a decade of being a HAM licensee, I've learned that the only difference in CB radio and Ham radio is that Hams occasionally give a call sign. Otherwise, no other difference (they refuse to follow the FCC rules for Amateur operators). Many Hams can't program their own radios, much less build or repair one. As a result, I purchased a GMRS license about six months ago.
