The organic rice also had elevated Arsenic. Buy California rice and wash it.

That makes a lot more sense. It's not that the rice itself is necessarily bad, it just holds onto a lot of arsenic when grown under unhealthy conditions. I wish he could have addressed that in the video because I got the wrong impression.

In most cases it's none of the above. Generally weight gain (fat gain) is caused by one or more of 1) too many toxins, 2) altered food, 3) nutrient deficiencies, 4) lack of activity, 5) stress, 6) hormone decline with aging, 7) abnormal flora and 8) lack of sleep. Each individual will have an optimal macro-nutrient ratio (protein, carb, fat ratio) that you can discover for yourself by doing a test diet of the various ratios to see which one gives you the most energy and focus.

Rice is gluten free and is allowed on a gluten free diet. If they process the rice on the same machinery as they process wheat, then you can get gluten contamination in the processed rice product. It is also possible to have an allergy to rice proteins.

I don't understand why this is a response to my comment. Are you suggesting that organic rice would not contain arsenic?

Great comment and I agree that we don't want to throw the baby out with the bath water. But there have been a number of studies showing this concern, and I feel we should exercise caution about ingesting a lot of processed rice products. If you buy low arsenic rice and wash it I think you are fine.

Hi Doc. This is the first video of yours I can't agree with completely. I can't tell you why, but my gut tells me something is wrong with the objective and the reasoning here.
It sounds like an attack of the corn industry on rice. Maybe the numbers are fudged? Maybe there is difference between Arsenic and Arsenic, say "artificial" vs. "organic"? I'd like to see another clip on this in say two years. I bet there will be new information regarding Arsenic.

This is ridiculous, how do you explain the billions of health Asians living off rice for thousands of years.
