The fact you can watch a rocket test fire in China from your back porch and still see it so clearly is absolutely terrifying, especially when it accidentally lifts off and belly flops back down.

No animals or bugs were hurt in the accident👍

There’s a low-hanging Temu joke to be made here but I’m too burnt out hearing about Temu to even make it.

Make actual things great again 2024

So, so many things constructed in China in this modern age are cloned and reversed engineered! In other words, it’s industrial espionage. But to give them credit, if that’s due, they generally do a pretty good job with their copying techniques!

This is what happens when you use substandard Chinese parts.

"the test fire was successful. It reached an altitude of a mile."

Harbor Freight’s usual substandard materials being used 🙄 😂😂😂
A tip for this space “agency”: Stop stealing and start innovating; you keep failing at the last 10% of quality.

I thought small explosives were supposed to be attached to the sides of rockets to blow them up midflight to prevent stuff like this from happening 🤷

Basic rocketry 101. A pointy nose cone helps with airflow, sometimes fins out back keeps it straight. 😉

Kilometers is pronounced kilo-meters, same as kilograms.
Not, ka-lam-it-iters.

I wonder how they stole that info...😂😂😂❤

I see. Sooo, the connection is lost, therefore the 'default' setting is for it to immediately 'lift off'. After reaching 1.5km the "on board computer automatically shuts engine down".

Might it have just been easier to not take off in the first place? Was there not a single *software* interlock ANYWHERE?
