Undergoing chemo now with the cell specific class of stents your short lecture was incredibly helpful and allowed me to fill in all the blanks that doctors and nurses did not talk to me about. Thankyou.

10:07 Etoposide inhibits DNA topoisomerase II which doesn't have a role regarding the mitotic spindles. The chemo drugs that inhibit the mitotic spindles are paclitaxel, vincristine and vinblastine. Vincristine and vinblastine inhibit mitotic spindle formation whereas paclitaxel inhibits mitotic spindle breakdown. Or to put it in other way, microtubule or mitotic spindle drugs work in the S phase of the cell cycle but etoposide works in the G2 phase.

Antitumor antibiotics are cell cycle non specific....couple of other discrepancies...for example: cell cycle non-specific agents- they are not specific to any phase of cell cycle and work when cells are at rest AND while in any other cell cycle phase....

Are you sure that vincristine and vinblastine are at rest. I am seeing m phase therefore specific not non specific? Am I wrong?
