Yes it takes a bit of time and patience to tune a multiplier. I would say firstly oil the bearings - absolutely vital for smooth running. These can dry out if stored for some time! Start with heavy braking and VERY gradually reduce it until it both casts well and without any line lifting during the cast. I have TEN multipliers. Good luck!!😆😆😆

Loving the music. It adds a lot. Also love the birdnest, but remember - you can *always* sort them out if you find the right bit to start pulling on.

I'm still trying to master casting with a multiplier as well, my first attempts on a mates rod resulted in a crows nest, naturally he didn't let me have another go after that! 😁

@soultrader Off topic: I'm currently looking at Hardy online and plan to invest in my first piece of kit in 40 years +.. would you advise mid-range line weight, length, before going more specialist at the lighter/longer end of the scale? Hardy entry level is about £400. It's quite nice eyeing-up the advances in technology and design on their website. I'm not at the reel stage. Any suggestions would be gratefully received. I would want the flexibility for sea trout (poss saltwater) and small to medium rivers incl smaller tarns or reservoirs. BTW I would love to recommend some places on the NW coast. Let me know how if that is poss off the comments section here. Cheers! Enjoyed your recent one with the comments turned off 👍
