Buying My First Baitcaster!! & Fishing With It

I decided that it was time to take the leap! I've always used spinning rods/reels but I wanted to upgrade my arsenal and try out a baitcasting rod and reel! I've never used a baitcaster before so this was definitely an interesting experience!

►Rod: Abu Garcia Vendetta

►Reel: Shimano Casitas 151hg 7:2:1 gear ratio

►Line: Berkley Trilene XL 12 lb

Cut me some slack! I am extremely new to this kind of reel haha. I'm sure there are still many more birds nests to come. Tight lines yall.

Dude, you caught fish and fun doing it. Don't give a second thought to what all these little girls on here are saying. I thought you did awesome for your first time throwing a baitcaster. Even the pros backlash their rigs. When I was learning I went ahead and bought two spools of the cheapest line I could find because I knew I was going to backlash it so bad. Bro, keep fishing and have fun. That's the whole point!

I'm still getting used to my baitcaster and getting pretty good at it. I find that overhead casting will typically give you a bird's nest. Side casting is smoother and results in a farther cast
