Geocaching is helping me lose weight. I am over 400 pounds and it gives me an excuse to go out and be active. I have had to hike for miles at a time to find caches and while it is exhausting it is a creative way to stay active. It’s literally saving my life

I’ve been geocaching since 2004, very enjoyable. One trick I use for urban caching is wear an orange vest, you can wander around with your GPS (yes, I’m old school, but I do use the app) and root through bushes, under light poles and railing and no one pays any attention to you.

Fun fact I found one on total accident and me and my friend were freaking out thinking it was a treasure map, but it was cool to see it dated all the way back to 1997

Out hiking with my buddy a few weeks ago and randomly stumbled upon a very well hidden geocache. We were about a half mile away from the nearest trail and where just talking when we spotted what looked like a small camo water bottle and opened it up. Inside was a geocache list dating back to 2007 and only 6 entries. Of course we wrote down our names and I’m now researching about a ton more near me. I never realized how fun this would be. Thank you guys for creating this amazing community and I hope to continue it for much longer.

I have been geocaching for more than a decade and have logged over 13, 000 finds so far! And since 2017, I have been showcasing my travels and geocaching adventures on my own YouTube channel. You did a great job explaining the game accurately and I hope people who are new to the game watch this video and become inspired to join in on the fun.

I have been geocaching since 2009 and have only 2037 finds. I love that it gets me outdoors and I love enjoying doing it when on road trips/vacations. I set goals for myself and there are challenges that keep you moving forward.

I found one today, and I was amazed! I wasn't deliberately looking for it.

I was once on a walk when I saw someone on the other side of a fence put what looked like a pinecone on the ground. After they walked away suspiciously, I went to see what it was. It took me a little bit of searching, but I found the geocache. It was very well hidden and kudos to whoever hid it. This got me into geocaching and now sometimes whenever I walk by one (I use the app) I quickly look over the spot. It's fun and it reminds me of treasure hunting. Very enjoyable and would recommend.

I love geocaching, but I'm scared that I'm gonna end up finding some twisted shit like a body part or a condom.

My wife and I went on our first hunt today, it was an easy one but the thrill of the find was there. I knew about Geocaching for years but haven't done one in a long time, my wife never heard of it until today and she had a blast. It's fun, challenging, exiting and physically good for you, there are no down sides.

I found out about geocaching when I was doing a news report about it for a Vancouver-based TV channel in 2009. I was so interested that I immediately started looking and it became addictive. In 2011 I moved to Dubai and hosted/directed a TV show where we used to go out looking for them in the wilderness. It's been a while since I could cache properly since then. I need to get back into it!

Usually when there's someone watching us we tell them we are playing a treasure hunting game. Most will just assume it's something from the city or a local organisation and happily move on, others will ask more and then we tell them the full story. Suspiciously hanging around somewhere is not always the best idea. Only when it's really you can't talk with the onlookers.

The last geocache I found was in 2008. I was 15 I found 2 that day. One was in a busy shopping center next to a Starbucks hidden in magnetic box under a storm drain. The second I hike 7 miles with my brother to find a small plastic box near an elementary school close to the country side of california. Memories bring me back.
