Congratulations on a great video and a good start to what I hope will be a long journey of geocaching. Geocaching can take you to places you may not normally go and see things you may not normally see. I was fortunate enough to meet Paul and his wife Dana while they were writing the book you mentioned in the video. I’m happy they continued on with geocaching after they wrote the book. Since you’re in the Massachusetts area, check out the caches in Great Brook farm state park. It has some amazing hiking/cross country trails and had (I haven’t been there in a long time) a visitor center where you could get a bowl of ice cream, then look through a plexiglass window at the cows that produced the cream for your ice cream. The second cache ever placed in the state ( Lowell AKA Second Mass) is also in that state park.
Excellent job on the video!
Have fun, be safe,

Great !!! I agree, very wholesome fun. I started in 2004, and am getting back into it again with 42 finds. It is like an easter egg hunt and when you find one, inside you are screaming WOOHOOO

Here in Melbourne Australia I have a string of 3 caches along a creek that cannot be seen from the main road and I get so much positive feedback.
I plan to ad a few more either side to link up other people's caches

I started this when my last child moved out. I can only clean so much. I needed some sun therapy so here I am!! It's been like 3 months and only 3 trips out. I have 6 trips out and 2 finds. I even went out after midnights one morning and made my second find. I'm officially obsessed 😂

Of course they call "Spoiler Alert!" Sometimes a cache is so clevery hidden that it's hard to find, even when you're right on top of it. I wouldn't want anyone spoiling my fun of figuring it out!

i am beginning to get into this hobby starting tomorrow i am heading out for my first day of cacheing right here in my home city portland oregon . i have put together a very basic tool kit bag, with a couple trade items, a multi tool, pens, my private logbook for keeping track of my finds,

before i head out i will be hitting up dollartree for a flashlight and batteries tweezers and a couple more trade items

any other suggestions for tools of the trade would be welcome thank you

I'm interested in trying this as a new hobby. I'm just wondering though, isn't it quite possible you could be reported as 'suspicious behaviour'? Particularly with how things are in the world at the moment.

Now you have to pay for premium to see most of the caches

I'd be afraid of reaching into trees... I'm from the city so there's that...

I am new to this whole thing, and I have 7 caches in my area and 3 of them are marked "Premium". The website will not let me view it unless I upgrade. Is this a recent change? I'm not sure if I want to begin this "hobby" if over 40% of them are unobtainable. 😢

The premium version is pretty cheap though. It's really worth it. I think you can get it for $30 a year.

"Rule No 2: Respect the environment - Don't hide caches in lightpost bases, sprinkler heads, etc." I watch three geocaching videos and about 50% of them are under lightpost bases. lol
