I really like what Klien has been doing lately. Well made affordable tools.

There's some Milwaukee employee who has this job description "Buy all the Klien tools, copy them, then change just enough we don't get sued."

I’ll just stick to 1/4” and 4mm. There’s much less frustration when a bit gets lost or damaged

FYI buyers. Longer bits (such as on the klein) are probably better. I'll tell you why. The amount of recess you'll find screws sitting deep in plastic will really surprise you. Whether it be toys, or electronic gadget enclosures, computer equipment, appliance enclosures. Sometimes even a little extra is better, I'd go for that over brand loyalty or even looks. Klein wins this round, though both of these are nice products it seems.

Now you might think well won't the outside bit holding collar fit fine in those recesses? Well, no you will not always find that. I've had issues several times and I don't even take apart that many things. A longer bit also means more bit to grab onto for friction hold and more bit to grab back out of a recessed hole when they get stuck in there. Longer bit also means easier to see when lost in a bag or pouch.

Klein FTW because of the longer bits.

I say nobody buys the 3.5mm screwdrivers

So you have convinced me to be a fan of Kline tools after seeing all the other sets. I'm wandering if that set will stack on the other sets. And I would definitely buy the Kline
Thanks Doc

What's the justification for going with 3.5mm when that is only 0.5mm narrower than the industry standard 4mm?
You can make a real argument for why 4mm was necessary when we already had 6mm, but going from 4mm to 3.5mm seems pointless.
Unless I'm missing something, it seems like the only motivation was to make a proprietary system.
If so, it doesn't even seem to have worked, since at least two manufacturers are now using it.

3.5 is dumb in most applications. Better than both of these sets is the Quinn ifixit clone at harbor freight.

I'll take Klein over Milwaukee any day of the year, but I'd take the #32787 set over this one.

I refuse to buy 3.5mm. We don't need another size standard to keep up with.

Tekton makes a great small set of the 3.5mm bits comes with a lot of useful extras. I liked it so much. I bought everyone in my family one as stocking stuffer's. They all love it👍🏻

Klein refused to send me the bit I'm missing because of a duplicate. They said to return it to lowes. Tried emailing and it was undeliverable because their inbox is full... Awful customer service if you ask me. I like them both quite a bit.

I have a Wiha 75093 as a great little micro-driver with on-driver bit storage. Fewer bits, but stores much smaller than either of these sets.

3.5 is too proprietary. 4 seems to be the standard (wiha, ifixit, etc.) Also at this size you need an ESD rated handle or its worthless. Or at least metal. Not plastic/rubber like these.

Do 3.5 to 4mm (or 1/4 inch hex) adapters even exist? I've never seen one. These seem stuck in this 'system'

The Milwaukee case is designed to fit inside packout organizers like their 1/4 bits set.

Very helpful video. I just received the 32614 4-in-1 Driver from Klein (which wasn't too easy in Germany). Unfortunately, I wasn't aware of its proprietary format of 3, 5mm, thought it was a 4mm standard. I like the general idea of a reversible shaft very much. So it's short during transport and can elongate in case of need. But: no standard bits to use! I think in 99% of all cases, the longer shaft isn't really needed. But nowadays there are so many formats of small screws that one really needs a lot of bits at hand to handle them. Therefore I want to have a driver with many bits at hand. Of course there ist the possibility to get the 32717 set or the 32328 27-in-1 driver with built.-in storage, but the latter is not very short. So I'll stick with the HOTO 24-in-1 driver for mobile use, and have my Wiha top-quality bit sets as a backup.

The problem with 3.5mm bits is that you have limited options for the handle.
I wonder if using a pin vise is something to consider for holding 3.5mm bits.
I found this expensive Starrett 166D pin vise that holds a range (2.9mm to 4.8mm)
But i don't have the courage to spend 40$ on a pin vise. I'd probably wait for doc from last best tool to review it first 😂

I don't use 99% of the bits that come in these sets. Anybody else feel the same way?

I use 3.5 for my hobby stuff the only way to go.

The smaller 3.5 mm may be slender than 4mm but it could be lesser say 2.5mm.To me all this seems like marketing strategy rather than utility value
