Kodak Gold with a cheap on-camera flash is THE look of the 90s. Last time I tried Gold with flash I thought, "oh my gosh this looks like high school!!!" The photos immediately made me think of Nirvana and pagers and Fresh Prince and slap bracelets. I don't know what it is about how Gold responds to flash but it transforms in a really punchy but graceful kind of way.

Fuji Superia is god tier. It's almost perfect. I love your videos man. You're the main reason I got into Film. Keep doing you bro. The content never disappoints!

Been shooting a lot of Gold lately and loving it too! But on the east coast it’s been hard to come by, so when I see it or it comes in stock online I buy it up. Also on the east coast the only drug store film I come across on the rare occasions it’s in stock is Ultra Max 400. But it’s over priced and come in 24 exposures.

I've been shooting with Gold for 3 months now and it's an absolute beast, made some beautiful pictures. There's one I've taken during night In a tunnel which had LED stripes on the sides of it and my friends where in the middle so it looks brilliant. The only con is that night photography is hard on it, but except that it's a BEAST

Kodak Gold is also hard to come by at the moment.

it gets very yellow if you shoot Gold indoors, it's a very daylight dependent stock. My secret sauce to shooting Gold is to slap an 82A filter on it

I love Kodak Gold because it is colorful and vibrant. It is also nostalgic for me. It was out of stock at B&H for a while so I ordered 70 rolls of Kodak Pro Image 100, which is now cheaper than Kodak Gold by about two dollars.

I think Gold and Ultramax give off what I call "family photo" vibes, i.e. they remind me of photo's you'd find in an older family album. That isn't a bad thing or an insult though. I love the vibes it gives and use it specifically in some situations for those feels.

ColorPlus 200 -- a tad warmer. Reminds me of summer vacation 8mm home movies (Kodachrome!) in the

Currently (11-26-21) you can get Kodak Gold 200 at B and H. It's $10, up from $6.50 just two months ago.

Kodak could do a better job of communicating with the film community, particularly people that supported them for decades and never switched to digital. The rise in prices and scarcity are shocking.

Hi again from Spain, KingJvpes! So great to hear about your thoughts on this film, in fact I discovered its potential some rolls ago and I totally agree! I love it! The point is here in Spain there’s no problem to find Kodak Gold, Portra, or Ektar. The problem comes when you try to get some Fuji C200 (which I personally love) that was a cheap film (it was available everywhere three of four years back for less than 5€/$) but it isn’t anymore, it’s very hard to find anywhere and the prices have risen up to 10€!!
These price increases are going to make me back to digital 😰😰!
Well, thanks for your videos again!!

my comfort film stock is fujicolor 200. I've shot every single possible thing with it, from concerts to bright day shoots. It works wonderfully and I know how to make it work since it's the one I've shot the most.

Those photos are amazing! I’ve been getting those packs of 3 Kodak gold 200 at Walmart for like a year or so. Definitely the most available film stock yet result is amazing

Personally I’d rather go with Fuji Superia 400 (and not for the convenience, if anything Kodak Gold 200 is more “convenient” since it’s cheaper and much easier to find, at least in Europe).
This being said if I could go back in time I’d pick superia 200..

Out of all the consumer Kodak film stocks I honestly think my favorite is probably colorplus, it might not be the sharpest out of all of them but honestly I think it has the most pleasing and natural looking colors.

YES!! You just validated my feelings about Kodak Gold 200, I have definitely noticed that superia has a greenish yellow shift in my Pentax K1000, but with Kodak Gold the images are definitely warmer, which I agree looks GOOD to my eye. With a 50mm 1.4 wide open, the superia has this funky 1970's glam photo look, which can look kinda cool in a stylistic way. the Kodak Gold I thought looked great when I went to the lightner museum in St Augustine Florida on the sandstone and blue skies. It just fits warm summer scenes exactly like you want. Superia is at it's best with cooler season landscape scenes. I think it has something to do with your expectations of the color palette given the scenes. Warm tones are expected in warm scenes, more blue green in fall and winter. Mixing those up just looks... weird! Bang for the buck wise, it's really easy to get nice photos with Kodak Gold, I have yet to be disappointed by the pictures I get with it. It's a very forgiving film in that regard

Kodak Gold 200 is great, but for me the consumer film that I've been in love with is actually Kodak Colorplus 200. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it!!

In Australia, film is only at big W or camera stores. Very sad. Would love it at convenience stores
