Does keeping the Law of Moses even make sense for Christians?

We've talked a lot about the theological shortcomings of Torahism (aka the Hebrew Roots Movement), but recently it occurred to me that their position on keeping Torah also falls short philosophically. So here's a little thought experiment. Let's pretend—for the sake of argument—that HRM theology is true and consider what that would mean for our Hebrew Roots friends. It turns out that if HRM were true, it would present a lot of problems in history and in the Bible.

Please pray for my family. My wife has fallen for this heresy. We are constantly fighting and going at eachothers throats now because of this hallelujah scripture nonsense. Please pray for Ruben and Vicky.

I have been a born again Christian for 36 years. On my journey, I spent years with and learned with Baptists, non denominational, Pentecostal, Adventist, Jewish messianic at fellowships & churches. All of them love Yeshua. However I noted that whichever church they started in, they usually stayed in. Whichever lens they were initially taught to look at scripture (likely from their Pastor) more often than not seemed to stick. It is very difficult for most of them to change their mind. I moved around alot in the Marines for 24 years, so I was forced to find new fellowship, which I think in retrospect was a blessing. I have read the Bible through cover to cover about 12 times and graduated from Liberty University. I gravitate towards the HRM and the likes of 119 ministries and Zach Bauer’s New2Torah understanding. But still, I love my Adventist, Baptist, charismatic, Methodist brethren. We don’t see eye to eye on many doctrines, nor do they amongst themselves. All I can say is “Keep loving each other, keep searching the scriptures and pressing towards the cross. Shalom

After being a dedicated, in love with Jesus Christian for 20 years, thru some trusted friends I got swayed into it and became very much involved in the HRM for a few years. But I had doubts and after which, when i read certain scriptures in Galatians and I Cor and others... I could not be at rest. I too thought WHY? would the Lord not let me in on this HRM when I first came to know Him if it is so very important. It is IMPOSSIBLE that He would deceive me or hold back an essential truth. So slowly but surely I left as i became more convinced.

I appreciate your honesty brother. Keep studying, the hardest thing that I ever did and continue to do. Is to forget what I have learned and read the Bible for what it says.

Amen!! I really like this approach to showing the folly of this aberrant new teaching.

At 3:12 I paused to let you know before continuing on with the Video, I started thinking the feasts and sabbaths were important to Yah and that they were forever to be "rehearsed throughout your generations"from reading the word, before ever hearing or knowing there was a "Hebrew Roots group ie...movement" now I'll see if you can change my mind with this Video. (Continuing on)

What day did Yah change the Sabbath? when John the bapatist was born or when he arrived on the scene, at the Death, Burial or Resurrection of Yahshua?, When he ascended?, at Pentecost?, After the temple was destroyed in 70 AD?, all of the above, none of the above? was it a gradual change over a period of months and years--- in your opinion...Did Yah use the Catholic church or Constantine to make it official...Did Yah change his mind in time, space matter or was this change I am assuming pre-ordained before the foundations of the earth ---Just curious about your thoughts. Thanks

Mr Solberg. Pls consider this.
The distinction between the Ten Commandments and the other laws of Moses lies in their origin, purpose, nature, inscription, significance in Christianilty, location in the sanctuary:

1. Origin:
- Ten Commandments: Also known as the Decalogue, these were given directly by God to Moses on Mount Sinai and were inscribed on two stone tablets (Exodus 20:1-17; Deuteronomy 5:4-21).
- Other Laws of Moses: These include the ceremonial, civil, and moral laws that God gave to the Israelites through Moses, detailed primarily in the books of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy.

2. Purpose:
- Ten Commandments: These are fundamental moral principles intended to guide the ethical and spiritual conduct of all people. They are seen as universal and timeless.
- Other Laws of Moses: These laws include detailed regulations for worship (ceremonial laws), guidelines for social justice and community living (civil laws), and additional moral directives. They were specifically given to the nation of Israel to govern their religious, social, and political life.

3. Nature:
- Ten Commandments: These commandments are concise and comprehensive, addressing broad principles of morality and worship.
- Other Laws of Moses: These laws are more detailed and specific, covering a wide range of topics from dietary restrictions to procedures for sacrifices and festivals.

4. Inscription:
- Ten Commandments: Written by the finger of God on stone tablets, symbolizing their universality, permanence and divine authority (Exodus 31:18; Deuteronomy 9:10).
- Other Laws of Moses: Written by Moses in a book (the Torah), indicating their role in guiding the daily life and worship of the Israelites (Deuteronomy 31:9).

5. Significance in Christianity:
- Ten Commandments: Still relevant and applicable, forming a basis for Christian ethics. Written in the heart and mind in the new Covenant. (Matthew 5:17-48, James 2:8-10, Hebrews 8:10)
- Other Laws of Moses: The ceremonial and civil laws were fulfilled by Jesus Christ and are no longer binding on Christians (Colossians 2:14-17; Hebrews 10:1-10).

6. Location in the sanctuary:
-Ten Commandments: Placed inside the Ark of the Covenant (Deuteronomy10:2, 5)
-Other Laws of Moses: Placed by the side of the Ark of the Covenant (Deuteronomy 31:24-26)

This distinction highlights the unique role of the Ten Commandments as a perpetual foundational moral code, while the other laws of Moses served to govern the specific covenant relationship between God and the nation of Israel.

My well intentioned brother in law gave us each a Hebraic Roots Bible. I originally found it to be a lazy translation with little theological thought. Recently I have found glaring omissions and out and out lies in the notes.

The late Keith Green wrote a very thorough article called Catholic Chronicles which is easily found online. He wrote the article shortly before his death and his ministry took it out of publication soon thereafter but people have kept it in circulation.

Rob, can you make a video discussion about Isiah 43:25

How does the new testament handle passages like Isaiah 2? Doesn't the text imply that genitles will come to Jerusalem to learn Torah? Is that a new Jerusalem prophecy? Is that torah referring to the the law of Christ? Thoughts?

Dear, Rob, What’s your take on Salvation? How can I be saved according to the Bible? What verse can you give me that talks about salvation? I’m very interested in reading your answers, thanks.

There are huge problems of God's Providence if Hebrew roots is right. Basically, Christ did not keep his promise "to establish His Church "and the gates of hell will not prevail against it".

I have a question Rob. If I wanted to extensively read the writings of the early church, where would I go? Is there a book that puts these all together or do I just scour the internet? I worry about the translations of them being correct.

Now I have a question what is the difference between a Hebrew roots and a messianic Jew?

I just wanted to say thank you for all the work you’ve done on refuting modern day Judaizers. I’ve just discovered your channel today and I’ve been binging your videos in last minute prep for a live stream I’m doing tonight. I am currently preaching through The Sermon On The Mount on my live web show which is just simply called “Cerebral Faith Live”. And as you know, one of the Judaizer’s favorite proof texts is found in this sermon of Jesus.

I’m using your video to help equip me as best I can to deal with potential pushback during the Q&A portion of the show. God bless you.

So they set a day to meet with Paul, and many people came to the place he was staying. He expounded to them from morning to evening, testifying about the kingdom of God and persuading them about Jesus from the Law of Moses and the Prophets. - Acts 28:23

Did'nt Jesus keep the 613 mitzvahs and live the law? Did Jesus tell the fledgling Christian movement they were exempt from the law of Moses, or did that come at a later date, perhaps with The First Council of Nicaea?
