In this video, we will discuss on how to use Disk2VHD to perform a P2V conversion of a physical server to a virtual machine in Hyper-V. The scope of this article is only for Windows operating system.

P2V is a process where a physical server is converted as virtual machine and the main objective is to consolidate the physical servers, usually underutilized servers. Once virtualized, the physical servers are then decommissioned or re-purposed to save the power, rack space and money.

The focus of this video is Disk2VHD only and not about P2V processes and its best practices.

The extra technical data is key. Most other videos by other authors lack your attention to needed detail. JSW
