American Buttercream Frosting by Bake with Ayesha

Simple buttercream (also known as American buttercream) is made by creaming together fats (butter, margarine, or vegetable oil shortening) and powdered sugar to the desired consistency and lightness. Typically twice as much sugar as butter by weight is used.
In American buttercream I simply combine the butter, powdered sugar, vanilla (or other flavoring), and usually a bit of milk or cream- that's pretty much it!
Ingredients:
2 sticks (8 ounces) or 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
4 cups confectioners' sugar
Pinch fine salt
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 tablespoons cream or milk
