Voyager Typing Demo

This video shows my realistic usage of the Voyager keyboard with my shifted layout:

Everybodys preference is good to see. I am more interested in using the thumb and centers keys than the pinky. So lets see how this works for me. I just cant make a decision on whether I want three or two thumb keys

I have been looking carefully at the ZSA Voyager for several weeks. I currently have a ZSA Ergodox EZ split (relatively huge) split keyboard. I REALLY appreciate that you shared your Voyager layout. I’ve cloned it and will play around a bit. Your layout looks very close to many of the same choices I’ve made on my ErgodoxEZ. I use the same inverted T arrow cluster and number pad layers. And the same Alfred key (CMD+SPC) and Mac modifiers row along the bottom. Your video and your shared layout are pretty inspiring for me to buy a Voyager.

I am on the fence still about this keyboard, one thing I’d like to know is: How easy is it to use the trackpad in this position? I like the way it is set up here. Would it be easier to use a mouse to the right of the keyboard instead?

mmm are you use ortholinear keyboard before? I.think you could type better practice touch typing, i saw a lot hand movement

I would move every key to the left of the Q column, and every key to the right f the P column to the center or thumbs.
Then my pinkies would be responsible for just one column each. That would be a big improvement with the least amount of cognitive learning load.

Hey, I believe hearing out a slight german accent there :). As I'm from germany aswell, can you tell me if you had any trouble importing the keyboard? And most importantly, how much was the import fee/overall cost?
