Hi there, I'm writing from my x250. I bought it last year for 200EUR and have been using it for the past 6 months. It came with all bells and whistles: mint condition, cpu i7, FHD IPS, backlit keyboard, fingerprint sensor. I replaced the fan for better cooling, wifi 6E AX200, additional drive in WWAN port (I dual boot Zorin OS and Win 10), also upgraded ram to 16gb. It came with barely worn-out batteries. It's a great laptop. I also own x270 and x280. In my view x270 was the pinnacle of this line. All it needed was 13.3 screen, quad-core cpu and ram in dual channel. That is it. I hate apple and will never own any of their products as they set up a stupid trend of thinner all-soldered ultrabooks. I can accept x280 as I don't mind soldered ram (16gb is enough for my needs) or lack of replaceable battery. I don't know how I would feel about x13 starting from 2nd gen. Even keyboard is getting worse and whitelisting of ports is back.

These earlier ThinkPads are/were amazing PCs. Great build quality, fantastic keyboard, upgradability and extensive list of ports. Sadly, the current generation of ThinkPads are losing a lot of these features. This is a real shame as the ThinkPad in basically unique and those of us who love them buy the.m for these reasons. I have a ThinkPad X270 which is very similar to the X250. My daily driver in a ThinkPad E490 which is also a very good machine. I fear, the ThinkPad as we know and love it will become a thing of the past in the years ahead as it morphs to just another Lenovo brand.

You can run Windows 11 by going to bios security and security chip and selecting Intel PTT which gives you TPM 2.0 support and then your all set to go. This has been available for the T and X series since 2014.

In my humble opinion all *classic* thinkpads make you no regrets of owning.

Informative video and helpful for anyone looking to purchase or re-purpose these types of machines. Always, one for re-using devices for those on a budget if only doing basic to low-medium tasks.

9:08 for better gaming performance I recommend T440p besides you don’t have to sacrifice portability very much since it’s 14 inch.

I have a t430 and I just recently upgraded it to i7 and 16Gb ram, and I can confidently say it can par with newer laptops today.

The upgradability and repairability is what made go into it.

Though other laptops can be repaired but the Thinkpad stands out the most.

I bought it in 2018 I wish it had touchscreen and screen could turn 360 degrees but couldnt find x250 with this spec. The only complaint I have is its casing isnt that sound if you hold it with one hand and cause the keyboard curve a little its locking the system and you need to reset the device.

Minus gaming, photo and video editing, definitely still worth it, especially with dual battery.

Windows 11 will run amazing on it. I have X200, windows 11 runs okay. I also have X230 tablet dual boot WIndows 11 and Fyde OS -- all just run amazing.

Just picked one up for £140. Mainly for the fantastic keyboard.

Can you run photoshop and illustrator at the same time without affecting performance?

Thanks. I would ask you.. is it normal to have x250 without a fingerprint sensor? I bought one online so I'm suspicious about it!
