There’s ABSOLUTELY no way I’d be paying 600-1000 a month for insurance on a house

Insurance is a scam They need to go to jail

The problem is that in order to have "permanent roof" with amenities like electricity, gas and water, either the tenant or the owner must somehow pay insurance and property taxes. As a result, a lot of people live in tents, at least in California, where I presently dwell. Not a single mortgage, tax, rent, or insurance. It amazes me how many folks I meet who tell me they live in their cars. This place is insane!

And the crazy thing is that the insurance companies do not even want to pay out and when they do it’s at most 60% of what they initially agreed on. One of the biggest scams

I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.

Developers have ruined Florida. This state has too many homes for what this land can safely handle because of storms and soil type and elevation above sea level

Florida resident of 20 years and I am shocked like many over how the insurance rate hikes have caused an affordability apocalypse. I am hanging on by a thread. Property tax increased 42% and homeowners insurance went up 63 % January '24... and yet there is no other place to go because no one will buy my house in this economy.

Allstate canceled me after over 20 years. Seems like they like being paid but hate when claims come in . I will remember what they've done.

Homeowner's insurance DOES NOT COVER FLOOD!!!! You need a separate flood policy for that. That is why they got denied.

Another factor people need to consider is that every time a subdivision, a roof or a street is laid out, more water has to be drained off. The flooding problem will get worse because of the added construction will dump millions more gallons into the same drainage system.

And they're making us change our roof every 15 years instead of 30

There needs to be a law to force Insurance companies to pay out as there is a law for the home owners to have insurance.
