the 2D concepts for the characters look a lot like the final designs for the animated descendants show back in like 2016

they did make a descendants web series a while ago called descendants wicked world, around the time the 1st one came out and before the 2nd one came out.

So I haven't seen the Zombies movies outside of clips. I mainly checked this out because of what the shower runners previously worked on, and I was quite surprised. I found it pretty good. As for the part involving CGI, I assume it might be because of Aliki Theofilopoulos Grafft. After Phineas And Ferb, she would work on the Descendants Wicked Worlds shorts, another CGI show based off a DCOM. During her time at DreamWorks Animation Television, she was an executive producer on 2 preschool CGI shows, Doug Unplugs and Dew Drop Diaries. She probably felt comfortable with the CGI world, and wanted to bring that over to here.

I remember, I have seen the zombies thing and all I see is people talking about the alpha song, but I haven’t seen anyone actually dissect the series although I’ve been looking for it. I was surprised that I didn’t see any commentary videos on it because it was so bad

Lowkey enjoy this show more than the movies tbh. Like movies are enjoyable and all and have better music but it’s funnier tbh and the wackiness adds to it

6:23 Re animated dolls don't exist and who knows who the licenses partner is as Zombies 2 was Mattel and Zombies 3 was Hasbro and Hasbro lost the Disney license so who knows who owns it but I think its too late to make dolls which sucks given the new outfits in the show.

5:21 naw I disagree it was only CGI in the way Descendants Wicked World was. 2D would cost more to make including new outfits that will show up once so CG removes that cost. Descendants Wicked World case it was during a time Disney Channel hated cartoons period and was dumped on XD but Descendants they didn't want to invest into a real show, Zombies it was a means to cover its bases if the show is w flop then its a one season show that cost money sure but they didn't lose money either if canceled.
