I can’t be with a spender. It’d give me anxiety.

I budget and save 99.9% and splurge the rest of the time. My husband does not have either of those words in his vocabulary. 🌻

Saver for sure! The one about should I do baby step 3 before baby step 2 hit home lol. I want an emergency fund for the emergency fund!

Don't lie to people. Wifes who are spenders turn their marriges and husbands lives into chaos. Only a man can be more of the spender (but a balanced, not too much), not the other way around.

Recovering spender. Still impulse buy more than I am proud to admit!! That being said, we’ve been automatically investing 20+% of our incomes for the last 4-5 years. It’s amazing.

Like most things in life, moderation and balance are key. There are extravagant things I like and one should enjoy life, but there's much less stress in saving. I have friends who think nothing of spending $20/day on coffee and they constantly have random baubles and gewgaws showing up from Amazon, only to have an utter meltdown when the clothes dryer breaks or the car starts making a funny noise. I happily do without those things, in exchange for turning a major appliance malfunction or the car needing to go to the shop into an "eh, whatever" situation. Don't even know where they're at for retirement.

I think I lean more toward being a saver. :) Yes, I will spend sometimes... but I like to save up for something, THEN buy something nice, rather than just impulse-buy something cheap "now" and regret it later. (Also on tech purchases, sometimes I can end up taking multiple YEARS, from starting to think I might want to get something, until I actually decide what I want to buy and end up buying it.)

Overall I am a saver but do enjoy treating myself, looking to save and invest and provide for my future family.

I am definitely a saver. I was married to a spender and I hated it, so I don't really agree with the opposites attract thing. Maybe with more saving understanding and better budgeting... But even then, a spender will most likely not adhere to a budget.

That was so funny! I'm definitely a natural spender, but because of our seemingly long road of my husband being in school forever while we are raising our family and the struggle of not having any income for YEARS, I find myself often becoming very stressed when we have to spend money. Even for groceries at times. The struggle is real.
