This is actually funny!
He's got two pieces of junk and ends up having another one!

Everything about the complete job is wrong. No preheat, on cast will make it even more brittle, not veed properly, pieces not aligned properly, as can be seen by the amount of machining done to make it look flat, so gears will not be aligned and will clash and break on first rotation, not aligned in chuck properly, seen by how bad an intermittent cut was made and the amount of machining again to make it look flat, gear cut terrible, will cause a terrible knock in application, it’s been undersized in its width so will need to be spaced to fit, so unless this is driven extremely slow and have absolutely no load on it, it will likely not last more than a few seconds

Wear protective gear for eyes and hands.

Perhaps had he add 2 dowel pin between the 2 pieces before welding. Well established.

Kim loại nguyên khối còn bị gãy làm đôi thì lắp ghép này được mấy giây?

A professional would have covered the bed of the lathe before carrying out the grinding operations, to protect it from abrasive dust.

I know things are economically tough in 🇵🇰Pakistan at the moment, but gentlemen, this is going from silly to darn right disrespectful😏.

That gear was perfectly fine until someone deliberately partially sliced it through with a grinder, before levering it appart to disguise the raking cut.

Don't waste the goodwill that you've earned... Fix something that NEEDS fixing eg. Screw jacks, trestles, make a decent drill clamp and Morse Taper chuck for the 🇵🇰🚚Pakistan Truck crew - it could be a multi part upload, which would garner interest and save money for the truck rebuilders(1man instead of 3(chain tensioner, tommy/cheater bar holder & drill operator) to drill large dia

Still gave a 👍up in support, but keep it real PLS!

He faces the sides to hide the poor tolerance needed for gears, which he could not establish with this method

Genius mechanic? NO! A machinist who gets paid what he is worth. He will gladly take your criticism, because he gets paid for having you watch and comment.😄

This must be a low RPM gear. By holding the pieces together there is no assurance that the resulting gear is actually round. It should have been lightly tacked up and rotated on a lathe to check for roundness.
Must be really low RPM. Perhaps not even a whole revolution.

Hei is cutting the sides to get it balanced, nothing else.

as a trained gear cutter all I can say is, "ignorance is bliss lol"

It is greed to repair the gear. No good machinist shall spoil his reputation by doing it

V groove not enough it will break again not qorth

If I have the only option to repair this broken gear, I will fill the crack with high grade epoxy resin, then sandwich the gear between two face plates and bolt them. Then repair broken teeth by weld filling and machining

I thought the crack was still visible like a hairline
